Same thing. Mirror match just show who understands that particular match up better. A lot of people don't practice against their own setups just like SF4 vortex.

Point Sentinel is an entirely different character than Drone Assist Anchor Sentinel. Same thing with Point Haggar and Lariat Assist Haggar. |

I was speaking more about the gameplay engine. In Marvel things are moving very fast and you have assist characters. In SF4, it's straight 1v1 and the pace can be pretty slow. As you probably already know, each character have there strengths. So when you want to use those strengths and you play a mirror where those same strengths are being used against you(like Akuma air fireball wars), shit can get pretty stupid and annoying. In Marvel I never thought those things would matter too much because the pace of the game(along with assist characters) would nullify those things. I don't know though, that's just what I've always thought when it came to Marvel mirrors.

For example if I played Balrog vs Balrog 100 matches then I go to a tournament ran into a guy that has only played Balrog vs Balrog 20 times. More likely then not I'm going to win unless he's just so far superior to me. If I play Zero on point vs Zero on point 100 matches and I go to a tournament playing another Zero who doesn't have much practice in Zero mirrors shit is still a coin flip. I guess that's because Marvel has X-factor and one touch kill. Justin vs Tokido at last year CEO really shows what I'm talking about. Two wolverine jumping up and down looking for that air throw. Whoever hits it wins... Tokido's game plan was to avoid akuma land air throw. Justin's plan was to avoid Sent drones, land air throw. |

If it's best Magneto, I don't see why it should be point Magneto locked. Yeah it makes sense, but doesn't it also make sense that anchor Mags vs. anchor Mags shows who is the best character specialist since you don't have assists skewing results? If I kill your magneto because you tri-jump into Haggar assist, does that really make my Magneto better since all I did was juggle off of that into wall carry -> hyper grav loop?

Clearly the solution is a Multiple Man H&H money match. |

Eh, at least she's actually part of the community and even does decent in weeklies. I do feel the same way though about the girls who think they're sooooo a geek for liking Star Wars or a gamer for playing Mario Kart 3 hours every 2 months and upload pictures of those rare occasions to facebook.
