So after the Kid Icarus: Uprising review I probably set a new record for how many comments I could read before I had to stop. Hey, fanboys, let me put something in perspective for you. When you're trying to get me to give Kid Icarus a second chance, you are basically asking me to undergo genuine physical pain just so you can feel justified in your opinions. Just think on that for a second. You want me to suffer back pain and increase the risk of spinal injury in old age, a scenario ending with my tearful relatives being forced to put a bullet into the moaning pile of twisted bones on the hospital bed, because you want to hear nice things about the little angel twat. By then you'll all have forgotten about Kid Icarus: Uprising anyway. You'll be rolling around the nursing home arguing that the new Zelda is totally different to the others because Link gets to ride a motor scooter now. It's all down to that wretched little stand, which means I have to sit at my desk hunched over that little screen. Yeah, maybe this is the sign that KI:U is aimed at younger, more flexibly-spined people than I, although it's worth noting that I'm considerably younger than I'd have to be to have been a fan of the original NES Kid Icarus that Uprising can't stop banging on about.

Not sure why there is so much hate directed toward him for almost every single one of his reviews. There have reviews were he destroys a game that I happen to love and it really does not bother me.

Well, every day, a child uses the internet for the first time.

The bigger question is why him or any other vilified reviewer would actually write dozen-paragraph-long responses to people who will never stop giving them shit anyway. It's not that it's a losing battle, it's that there's no real battle in the first place.

Whether he genuinely believes what he says or it's part of his character persona, he's not something you take seriously. It's for entertainment, they aren't real reviews, at least I hope people don't confuse them with that.

Haha, I like the game, but I agree so much on any and all control complaints, it's painful for me, too. I can't believe Nintendo of all companies shipped a game that controls like this. It's actually painful, and I am usually fine with eccentric control methods, I mean hell I'm a Monster Hunter fan.

Well, I still think he's funny, people are just REALLY insecure about their tastes and cant handle any ribbing, dude blasts on shit I like fairly often but theres always some truth to the comments, which makes it funny.

He does drift in and out at times, though, I think his best review was the original Fable one from way back. He wasn't pressing the genuine hate angle so hard on it and I think it came across better.

He dislikes pretty much any modern trend in video games. Linear game design, regenerating health, over simplification of stuff etc. So that's like 99% of games this generation.

Although to my surprised, he disliked Demon Souls too. His favourite games seem to be the original Silent Hill and Portal 1.

I have to wonder why he continues playing and reviewing Nintendo games when he clearly has no interest in them. My favorite was in his Mario Galaxy review when he took the game as evidence it was time to retire the Mario franchise (and also that it's too time-consuming to collect all the stars, while singing praises of countless RPGs).

He has good insight and I love when he talks about like, PC games and shit, because it's more up his alley. If it's something he doesn't like he's just a contrarian dick.

But basically he lost me by ripping on Sonic Unleashed for being hard.

I watch them. I think I enjoy about 1/3 currently.

His Nintendo reviews tend to be boring, not bad but he really doesn't try and just reuses the same jokes that has for while now so they tend to not be as good.

Having said that he is also spot on in this case. KI is a massively flawed experience. Some people may be able to look past them to enjoy it, but a lot more like me don't want to put up with those controls any longer
