PlayStation Plus survey asking what content people would pay for #1

According to IGN this survey is going round with various tiers of content for PS+:

Which tier would you prefer if you're a PS+ subscriber or would any of those make you subscribe?

Why does Option 3 sound WAY too good to be true?

Also, why even include COD Elite in the survey when none of the tiers include it?

Microsoft has shown me that's it not worth for paying for these kinds of services. They can offer me a throne and four maids to beg my every call and I still wouldn't subscribe. None of what Sony's offering seems even remotely enticing.

Also, why include Cowwadooty Elite as an option when all of the selections leave it as no?

I pick option 3. can't resist any new game less than a year.

basically option 3 only give you 1 bluray game per year. but I'm in PS Plus for the PSN games, so I'm fine with it, and, option c still give discount on all titles. that sounds great

Option 3 plz. 75% discount across the board alone is probably enough to make it worthwhile.

As long as Sony won't let you keep the "free" games you get with a PS+ membership once your subscription is up I won't bother regardless of what pricing tiers they create.

I actually like option 1, I'll usually buy the A class psn titles day one anyway, plus 10 full blu-ray games sounds cool.

Option 2 makes no sense.

You pay the same amount as Option 1, but get less or equal content in every aspect.

Apart from the discount of course.

option C is great, 75% sales across all games. and you keep any discounted games forever instead of tied to your subscription

just make it smooth, less updates, fast - both downloads and online. And I will subscribe. They can keep their free stuff that I don't plan to play ever.

I was thinking the same, but I'm guessing there's another page of options with it included that there isn't a screenshot of? Not sure.

I think their offerings are a bit different. If I didn't get XBL Gold at a big discount from the RRP there's no way it would be worth it - besides multiplayer, nothing is worth the price - all of the "apps" still require the same level of additional subscription charge, if they are subscription based, that they would on other platforms - except on those other platforms, the apps are free and not locked behind an additional paywall.

PS+ has been more than worth it for me, because in addition to discounts like XBL have, they have plenty of free games - for example in the last couple of months alone we've got Sly 1 HD, NFS Shift 2 and Awesomenauts for free. I think it's well worth the asking price, but obviously that depends significantly on individual tastes and which content you already own on PSN.

There's no way they could let you keep all of the content they offer for only £40/$50. Either the price would have to increase drastically, or they'd have to keep the current rental model. I'm more than happy with it as it is, I see it as a sort of Lovefilm like service, except you don't get to choose what titles you receive - the advantage being that you don't have to return the games you've got to receive more the next month.

I'd assume that its the given number of free titles available at any given time.

Meaning that whenever you check the the PS+ section there will be atleast 15 games available for download. What games that are put up will obviously change with time.

And there will only be "A" quality games!

Seriously though, that option would be great if you could do it monthly, although it seems like it would be rather difficult to keep people from just signing up for a month and DLing everything they want at a 75% discount in one fell swoop.

I think I'd be more behind it if they actually gave a broad range of games and let people pick their "rentals". Just praying that the next big promotion is a franchise or genre that interests you is kinda a shitty system.

unless they make it tied to your subscription like your free games. maybe that can work fine for Sony.

maybe Vita need to build it's library first before they can start offering free games and discount on old games. Vita releases hasn't been as stabilized as other platform. we only got 1 game this week and not sure it has anything noteworthy for the last couple of weeks

That would be ridiculous to expect to keep all the freebies. But if you cancel then resubscribe you get to reactivate all your old claimed PS+ content.

Since when does Sony classify games as ABC? Who determines what is an ABC game? If you ask me this is fake as hell. IGN is going full tabloid mode with these cheap clickbaits. First the ashes tw

This is how i see it,

Option 1: Rental-focused service
Pro - Most free titles added per year, 10 Blu-ray games per year
Con - 50% selected discount

Option 2: Mixed
Pro - 75% selected discount
Con - No PS1/Arcade classics

Option 3: Discount-focused service
Pro - store-wide 75% discounts, only new release added, cheaper subscription
Con - only 1 Blu-Ray game per year

Option 3 is enticing but i'll stick with Option 1.

Looks shady. "Quality of games: A, B, C" - so, they ask you if you want bad, mediocre or good games? How stupid is this?

On the other hand, it's pretty common mistake, labeling small, downloadable games as "worse".

I know it's cool (and generally the right thing to do) to hate on IGN these days, but I can't see this being fake. If you read the article, they give a source for the image, and he doesn't seem to be anyone affiliated with IGN.

EDIT: Hm. Greg Miller wrote the article, and dude whose Twitter was linked as the source of the image seems to be friends with him. Interesting. Not enough for me to call it fake just yet, but...I'm a bit wary of it now.

A big Con for option 1 and 2 is that selsected game are 1 year old or more games. even nnow we still got some recent game here and there. if it really only have old games, most likely it's games I already owned. option 3 is the best option

Yeah, I got the survey but as soon as I clicked "Take Survey", it displayed:

"Thank you for your interest in taking this survey, however based on your answers so far you won’t find the rest of the survey is very relevant to you."

Umm... yeah... I didn't even pick anything yet.

That said, from the looks of it there are more than three options in the survey.

75% discount is so bullshit when it's on everything in the store. Even 50%. Do you guys really expect them to sell new $60 games at a discount that large? No way, not possible.

As someone has mentioned earlier, I think it's that you only pay 75% of the original price not get a 75% discount on the original price.

I only want better PS+ deals for the Asian accounts...The same old PSN games that no one wants have been offered as free for as long as I can remember along with some generic dynamic themes...I regret not playing with a N.A. account right from the very beginning. The only real deal that Asian account holders get are the rare 1 hour demo deals, Sony betas and cloud saves.

I also LOL'd at the proposed 40 new PSN releases per year... that's like the entire yearly PSN catalogue. Or all Minis huahahauhauha

The fact that Sony releases new digital titles like Mass Effect for 69.99 euro (a.k.a. 90 USD), and that they want to give you 1 free 'Blu-Ray' release for 50 bucks annually PLUS all the other stuff?

Sony is doing good stuff with Plus now but they are not THAT crazy.

I'm torn between option 1 and 3. Getting 1 new game for free per year (that's supposedly a high quality game) is nice but I also like getting 10 blu ray games too.

It all depends on how they define C, B or A quality. Some people would consider Far Cry 2 a C quality game but I think it's one of the best and most unique shooters of the generation and they gave that away for free in February.
