Besides that, I doubt their whole dynamic in TDKR is Batman phoning Selina one night and going, "Hey! I need some help on this mission babe, wanna tag along? "More likely it's what happened like in Year One (you know, the book that Nolan got 90% of his material for BB from): they both go after the same target, bump into eachother, and team up to take out the thugs. After that they have an uneasy but understood alliance that eventually becomes genuine care for eachother ("Did they kill him?" "I don't know.") |

Nolans batman is going ot live forever, he wants to be able to pass the torch to someone who is able to be a symbol without hiding behin the mask.
For catwoman though...hmm no idea? |

Telling ya, Batman "dies" in the film and it ends with him training his army of Batmen or his successor in the end.

Perhaps Bane is too much of a problem for Batman to handle all by himself.

If Robin, I mean JGL doesn't replace Batman and Bruce rides off into the sunset with Selina I'll consider the franchise a dismal failure. Someone needs to give some finality to a comicbook franchise for once. And if Nolan is following the third act structure we ought to see themes coming full circle. Sunrise, sunset.

Title is "The Dark Knight Rises," not "The Dark Knight Stumbles and then Dies." Bane will smack him around some, and later Batman will rise back up like a throbbing erection and vanquish the evil doer. That he is physically stomped on by the baddie will be a first for the Nolan series and be shocking enough for people who aren't familiar with the comics. Don't see them going further than that, though it'd be a pleasant surprise if they did.

Batman launches himself at Bane - with all the ferocity that has been pent up in the last near-decade, before Bane catches him, picks him up, raises him over his head and brings his back down onto his knee. CUT TO BLACK ON SNAP. PLEASE BE CAREFUL MOVING UP THE THEATRE AISLE. Oh. And at some point we find out that Bane is Earle. |

Speaking of Earle, he is the dumbest tyrant boss ever. He goes down to Foxx's department and asks him point black to compile a whole bunch of information that he desperately needs regarding the microwave emitter, then when Foxx asks if he lost one, he decides to tell Foxx that he's merging R&D with archives and firing Foxx.
Do you really think you're going to get what must be a whole night's work of compiling information out of Foxx right after you told him he's being shitcanned? Tell him after you take advantage of that sucker. |

It's a shame a reboot is likely to happen so soon after TDKR.

Yeah, that was bullshit. Wherever that came from had him pegged as an evil politician named Nixon, but some of the recent viral stuff has revealed he's Gordon's deputy commissioner.

Still, I wonder what's going to separate him from Gordon and Blake. We're going to be following three cops, so there's got to be a reason for it. |

speculation:
1. Officer Blake is Joker's son who Bruce (Not Batman) is bringing up and puts as his heir 2. Bane will break Batmans back on the fight on the stairs seen in trailers 3. Officer Blake will save Batman but Bane will capture Bruce from his home as he is recovering (capturing the 1%) 4. With Bruce captured Batman is no more and chaos ensues with Cat Woman taking the loot, Bruce starts to recover and build himself up 5. Bruce escapes from Bane's prison with a still broken back 6. Batman has Mr. Fox build a suit for him which supports his broken back 7. Catwoman hates Bruce for being rich but is still fascinated by him while she is in love with Batman for being a vigilante 8. Batman has one last fight with Bane where he supposedly dies but takes the life of Bane with him. Bruce and Batman are Dead (supposedly) 9. Going on 5 years we see a shot of Batman looking over Gotham, camera starts to turn towards batmans face but fades to black (we dont know if it is Bruce or Blake, his heir). |

Joker's son...
Seriously? No personal hate, but that whole synopsis would be the shittiest movie this side of a direct to dvd rack in some time. |

I'll say it again. Blake is a cop that admires Batman and believes in him. He'll probably even find evidence that Batman didn't kill those cops or dent. He'll eventually help Bruce out in a major way or something along those lines.
Why would you even spoiler mere speculation? It isn't spoiler. |

The title of this thread reminds me...who were the 5 people that Joker killed that were referenced in the line of dialogue "5 dead, 2 of them cops".
I remember trying to count and the numbers didn't add up. |

1. Wuertz (the guy in the bar) 2. Maroni 3. Maroni's driver 4. Maroni's thug (Dent grabs him almost off-screen before getting in the car.) 5. ?? (Some people say the cop Joker kills in Dent's hospital room) I've read that Nolan said in an interview it would be addressed, but I don't really see how. Thankfully 98% of this has been proven to be false already. |
