The China factor is the biggest wild card with this one, since TDK didn't have that. I will say it will do over $1B, but not reach your $1.3B. |

What's up with the awful new DC logo? The one they'd been using since BB was fantastic, but they've replaced it.

Goddamn GAF hype after trailer 3 dropped compelled me to watch. Made it half-way through before I closed the window.
Subscribing to this thread, though. The build up until this damn move premieres will be epic. Thread subtitle is hilarious. Good job, OP. |

Callin it now - movie will be very front loaded and will only last in the top spot for max 3 weeks.
Will perform below TDK in domestic BO but overseas will be crazy. Still will easily cross 400 mill in domestic (most of it in first 3 weeks). |

Maybe. I've seen the logo on television and it shows characters in it. I mean it seems the main reason for the new logo was just so they could customize it for every occasion and that its symbolic of comics or something. I.E. The smiley face from watchmen with the blood splatter would be in the 'C' area of the logo. Of course I don't know why they couldn't do this with the last one.

TDK was an event movie.
WB is trying hard to promote this as the same - but it just doesnt have the same momentum as TDK. We saw this with Harry Potter DHII last year - which did great - but somehow did less than what WB wanted. Event movies cant be promoted - they just happen. Right timing, W.O.M, etc. Cameron nailed it with Avatar. |

Everyone makes fun of the writing in these movies, but one of the main goals of blockbuster films is to be endlessly quoted, is it not?

I think the big indicator of it having legs is going to be the reviews. It's going to be frontloaded regardless but if the reviews tank then it should be interesting to see where it lands.
