I was going to say that half of what makes podcasts interesting are inside stories and notable guest appearances...but then I realized that a GAF podcast would probably get quite a bit of recognition.

I'm actually working on this right now. With the exact same concept except not necessarily GAFers. Lining up guests and looking for people to write the music as we speak.

I wouldn't have thought so as they would need to be in context, though for some of the awesome Kohler humour moments they are worth seeking out in part!

Obviously of course Kohler and Sprks are now busy with huge other roles as well!

I'd personally say IF there was going to be a GAFcast it should embody what GAF is about at it's hilarious best : take the most vocal fanboys from each camp, throw them together with a topic or a quote and let them fight to the verbal death - but have one or two "observational comedians" in on the cast to interject every now and then or, you know, to keep the rage stoked.

I'm a fan of strong arguments and have no problem admitting I'm wrong. I find many podcast personalities dig themselves into a hole of ridiculous statements, but nobody ever calls them out and cuts them off completely. Crap like early 1UP yelling contests over simple fact checking.

Why isn't GAF a true, full-fledged video games website?
I don't know I'm the owner/webmaster.

But IMO, GAF should concentrate to stay a great forum first. If the owner/webmaster wanted it, I will advise to only extends with selected, professionnals writers to transform some specific topics (example, the ones reviewed by Nick for Kotaku :) ), and summarize the GAF general opinion for the main ones (for example, Wii U speculation threads). It's not an easy work, and will require a lot of objectivity!

The big problem is that even the best Skype-podcast is going to be a tier lower than an in-person cast. It takes a long time for chemistry to develop where comedic timing and just knowing when other people are talking becomes doable without instant visual cues.

I hosted 360arcadians Live! for one year. The actual shows themselves are easy, it's the editing that sucks. Our editor spent upwards of six hours or more for each episode ... It became like a full time job ....

well, this has actually started moving a little via twitter. I guess i need to ping the crew and see what happens.

I've a long needed holiday and won't be back in Japan until the end of the month, but yeah - i can't promise a single thing, i can't promise how it will pan out, i can't even promise it will be any good! But yeah... let's see what happens. Will get my thinking cap on as well - if we're going to do it again it's still a time commitment and there's a few things we need to work around.

Anyways, anyone else wanting to go for it definitely should - i'm about as reliable as a chocolate fireguard when it comes to anything that's not related to my family or my real job :)
