eBay isn't doing shit for me because I didn't have tracking information which they are so anal about. It's "policy." I'll see if I can try to do anything with Paypal, I doubt it but it's worth a shot. Mostly how it went down that is infuriating me. That message.... ughh.....

Everytime someone files a chargeback against you, if (or WHEN) you lose, you are forced to pay a $20-30 chargeback dispute resolution fee.

Next step is facebook account. Try to find if he's university, or if he works, clone the account of someone working there, add him and wait. Don't use a hot chick, clone a regular guy, or a semi homely girl that looks nice and friendly. Study his facebook habits and strike when he's at work or sleeping.
Send a detailed account of his fraud attempt, manually, to his entire list. IF there's too many people, aim for for family members, especially older family members; best friends. Email the entire thing to his workplace too. Don't post anything on his wall, this will alert him. Maybe its going to be easier than that and he has his entire friendlist is exposed to outsiders! It's not about getting 25$ back, its about humiliating him and embarrassing him in front of his family and employer.

People have done worse for less money. Just watch what this kid did in order to get his two dollars back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdF_Vo4B6Ms

You got greedy, and lost in return. If you're not going to play the game, might as well give it to someone who will enjoy it.
Or next time trade something for it with gaffers. Pretty sure you could have gotten something if you posted in the Key begging thread. |

I am playing it, it was an extra invite lol. Yeah, I'm only gonna trade with gaffers from now on. Nothing but good experiences with them.

I'm sure it's not something they'll deal with. They made an agreement on a 3rd party site and if the buyer didn't comply, I don't see why Valve has to intervene.

Beta is a privilege and has no monetary value. If you don't appreciate the choice then you don't deserve it. |

I disagree, clearly it has monetary value to have earlier access to a great game.

Is there any way to do this without the risk of recieving fake money from the buyer?

Karma is a bitch. I looked the name up on facebook and whitepages, the person who signed and stole the ipad from me is a 35 year old black man who lives with his mother. His mother just got fired, according to facebook. He is one of those douchebags who poses shirt-less but is actually fat. I sent him, his mother, and his older brother(who also lives with the mother) a message with a second fb account that I made, that I was filing theft and fraud charges just to make sure the rest of the family knows there's a theif in the house. In reality, I'm not spending more money to get the money back. I figured if any of them were any sort of decent human beings they would either return the ipad or the money. If not, karma's a bitch and I'm done with ebay and paypal. |

I do about $40,000 a year worth of sales on eBay. The place is a cesspool of inbred fuckwads. eBay itself is a cesspool of inbred fuckwads. The system is broken but you kind of learn to just accept some of the bullshit. Each sale is like a ticking time bomb of retard that you hope never explodes. It really is sort of masochistic now but I make good money on it so I'll take the occasional bad with the mostly good.

You sold virtual goods, you aren't even supposed to be allowed to do that, and you knew the possible repercussions that a scammer could do. You got served. Was it a bidder with 0 feedback? I always set any (not even virtual) auctions to disallow anybody with 0 or negative feedback. I take no risks. The risk is of course still there but any protection is better than none.

Inconveniencing people who have nothing to do with it and are just trying to make an honest living (well, the pizza people anyway) is a fantastic idea.

- PICTURES (Videos optional) (if they say item was not as described) - Delivery Confirmation / Tracking (if they try to dispute it never arrived) - Set your auction to prevent people with 0 or negative feedback, or specifically to [whatever your country is] (i only set it to USA, anyone interested will usually message you and ask) - Be as descriptive as possible in your listing You'll be fine bro. This dude got scammed because it was a virtual good, it's easily to rip people off doing this. |

I'm still curious how you managed to lose that dispute if the guy signed for the package. |
