You'll be fine bro. This dude got scammed because it was a virtual good, it's easily to rip people off doing this.
it's unfortunately still very easy to scam people with that much effort. I think you're better off doing a craigslist meetup at a starbucks or something.

i lost because he did a chargeback on his credit card, which paypal has no power over. paypal lost out on money, and wanted my money to compensate for the fraud. it's a fantastic system for scammers.

I agree with you.

Stating that someone is black is not racist. It's kinda silly to say it is.

If someone pulled that crap with me I'd do everything you did haha Gotta get some sweet revenge.

1. Always attach tracking number/delivery confirmation to item when you mark it as shipped.
2. Make the buyer payer immediately if they use 'buy it now'.

Those are the lessons I have learned.

the reason they side with buyers most of the time is that sellers were responsible for the vast majority of fraud/scams. maybe it's a bit too far in the other direction, but it was way too easy for sellers to be crooks in the past.

Only took one time for me to get fucked selling on eBay before I quit forever.

Luckily it was only a $60 game.

Now it's either Craigslist, amazon, or trade that shit in to GameStop.

I use to think Ebay was a cess pool, however then I was shown how if you're a girl and you like clothes/shoes it's probably one of the best places in the world.

I'm talking about 99 cent shirts, shorts etc. cheap a shit shoes, high street names for 1/10th the price. Seriously if your girl ever remarks about something in a clothes store, but doesn't buy it due to price, later on Ebay it and 75% of the time you can find it for a ridiculously lower price!

Same goes for selling. People have a thing for not trusting the millions of Chinese Sellers on there. So you buy a cheap payout of shoes from China for 5 quid, pt it back up for 15 and usually it goes.

Not ALWAYS. I had an experience selling a broke ps3 controller. There were multiple photos showing the damage from multiple angles. Just as an example of the sorts of turd's on eBay, I just got this message, I shit you not 2 seconds ago, from a buyer.

Quote:
Hi, received this item today. Very cool design.. You left the Collectible price tag sticker of $25.00 on the box. Not too cool.
What am I supposed to do with that? How do I respond? Should I apologize? Are they looking for some sort of partial refund? I have no fucking idea what or why they would send that fucking message. I now am awaiting a negative feedback because apparently they are unhappy about a price sticker. WHAT THE FUCK!!

That guy is a scum, if you want revenge you can always take his paypal e-mail and ruin it by entering it in those "survey sites" and his e-mail will be full of spam.

Reminds me of this one case on judge judy.

I get shit like that all the time (not that exact thing but just really fucking dumb messages). I know the deal is done, but I feel like if I ignore their pathetic mewling, that they'll just leave negative feedback out of spite, or open a case just to fuck with me. In this past month alone I've had three cases opened where I told them to send it back for a refund because they said they were unhappy or something was broken, and then they never send it back. It's fucking maddening.

I've bought a few things on Ebay without any issues, had three really excellent sellers take care of issues I had with a broken product; however, I just bought something on Ebay, paid for the item within minutes of winning and I haven't had a response from the seller yet. Now, granted, he couldn't have shipped as he's going to use USPS and I won/paid for the auction 30 minutes before their offices closed, so I don't expect it to be shipped out yet (especially now that it's the weekend (plus, is USPS open on Saturdays anymore?)), but having no response from him thus far has me a little worried, as other people I've bought from have responded within the day.

It was weird that no one else but me bid on the item. Have no idea why as he had a similar buy/sell history as mine with 100% feedback rating.

I'd love to be able to be snarky, but the feedback is killer if it is negative. The metrics that eBay uses to evaluate you are insane and the slightest drop in customer satisfaction can wreck havoc on your account. It's goddamn nuts. I really wish Google would give them a challenge by introducing a viable option for auctions.

Account suspension, drop in seller benefits, all listings that are currently happening (for myself I have a little over 100) are removed so all the time and effort spent listing them are voided. All the fees that were incurred listing them are also kept by eBay. It's overall a logistical nightmare and headache.

Never had any issues with eBay yet. Just lately I've bought a game, payed immediately and had it 3 days later, plus positive feedback. No PMing or anything needed.

Once I've screwed up a description for some Magic the Gathering card (because I apparently know too little about that game) and even then, the buyer just got a little angry when I was asking about the feedback and just left me alone afterwards.
Many buyers also come over paying cash.

Only annoying thing in my country is that you can't sell any 18+ games. Also, I didn't use an own account until recently and hence still need 40 feedbacks before I can disable fucking PayPal as a payment option for selling. Fortunately only one individual used that until now.

But at least it's only $25.
I've had paypal come through for me with ebay disputes.. also my bank as well.

I despise ebay though, I've been scammed for over $300 when I was ordering a console for a friend. It took months to sort it out... After that I swore I would never buy anything off of ebay again.

ouch dude. I will say that after all of the bullshit I've put up with on eBay, I no longer leave any feedback. It's a small consolation but still feels good knowing that you can still not leave anything for anybody. If you ever do deal with eBay again, never leave feedback. At least you aren't out any money like some people who get fucked over.

1) There's like no way to leave negative feedback on eBay if you're a seller. I've even messaged eBay pleading my case saying I DIDN'T CARE if I got my money back as long as the fucker got banned. He had SIX feedbacks saying that he was a scammer and filed chargebacks after buying items. Unfortunately they were all POSITIVE feedback because there's no other way for sellers to warn other sellers about scammers. So a guy who scammed me had like 50+ positives (100%).

2) A popular way to scam people is by receiving the item, complaining that it's a box of rocks, and then shipping a box of rocks back to the seller. What is Paypal going to do about that? They have no way of proving what the seller sent to the buyer.

3) Never leave feedback until after the other person leaves feedback. That way you can use their feedback against them if they file a dispute.

Ebay sucks for sellers now, you can't even give negatives to the buyer when they scam you. Then again, I've ran into a bad seller when my cousin bought a bluetooth that was broken and the seller refused to exchange it. Ran into an asshole buyer that wanted me to ship the damn item to him just right after he won the bid. Of course I couldn't say anything back to him fearing he might do a chargeback. Wait, Paypal charges you a $25 fee when the buyer does a chargeback? Never knew that, that's fucked up even if you have evidence that the stuff was delivered and signed.

I've sold 2 things on Craigslist, MUCH better than the shit from Ebay. The people were nice and I didn't have to run into assholes like on Ebay.

At the very least, you can leave a positive feedback warning other sellers that the person is a a scammer. That's what I did.

I sell on ebay all the time with cheap games and movies. Occasionally, I get the buyer who says the dollar game didn't work. I tell him to ship it back and I'll give a refund. Usually they don't want to pay the return shipping and file a dispute and ebay and paypal tell them to go fuck themselves. I haven't had to refund anyone just yet.

As said earlier, selling the Pre-order code is against TOS, and might well get his game banned.

Of course, if the OP is really that pissed off, it might be worth it just to screw over the guy who bought it.

hahahaha oh man, back when I was still on eBay, I sold some extra Suunto watches (the kind with a heart-rate monitor and all that jazz) that I'd won after a bike race. Anyways, 3 of the 4 go out fine, but suddenly I get this email from the 4th buyer: "Yea, received the watch today, looks great, but I can't get the strap to fit around my waist, so I need to return this".................that guy must have weighed 400+ lbs, because that strap is like 6ft long.
