Super soakers!
![]() Stories? Favorites? Did you have one as a kid? Was it the typical 50 model in the OP? Something more badass? A crappy water pistol? Did you utilize water balloons more? Personally I had a 50 for a while and loved tossing water balloons at pals. |

I had a 50 as well, although one of the originals:
![]() Not sure what they changed for the second model, as my sister got one a little later than I did and it didn't build pressure nearly as well. Only visible difference otherwise was a crosshatched pattern on the grip. Loved mine. The thread was the same size as a regular garden hose, too, and although I'm sure it wasn't great for the seals inside it, screwing a hose in place of the tank sure resulted in distance. |

I once may have been in the vicinity of what might have been the launching of what may or may not have been a water balloon from a distance that was construed to be 50 yards that may or may not have impacted an individual who was reportedly two thirds the way up what might have been a water tower. Of course, these events may have been alleged to have happened over 20 years ago.

oh my god childhood.
i remember finding a lost super soaker at the boise river festival, that was my first super soaker. also, remember those super soakers that had those backpack looking things that you filled with water that you shot out of super soaker bazookas? those things were awesome. being a kid/teen in the 90s was awesome. |

The one I posted was ridiculously powerful, but it wasn't really practical or easy to wield (or catch anyone with) when you're a 70-something pound 11 year old. But when you did get someone... glorious. |

Me and my brother had one each of these. One summer a friend and me were walking home from school and some asshole thew water out of a window hitting my friend (laughing from up there, it was clearly on purpose), so we went back to my mothers house that was only like 100 meters away and got my brothers. We both pissed in it and then shot it through the window, now sure why they didn't stop it up there, they were clearly up there in the room we were shooting into and a hand appeared a few times fiddling with the window.
Then later on in the summer my cousin came and opened it, was probably like a month after and she asked my brother what the hell he had put in it. Totally forgot to actually wash it after we had shot out what seemed like the last drops. We were some stupid ass kids. Edit : wait, actually that's not the kind we had. It's pretty damn similar though but the opening you put water in the end of it rather than the top. |

Hah, I still have cold beef with the kids next door over a particularly evil watergun fight. Their super soakers versus our dollar store specials. They lit my little sister up to the point she was crying, so I whipped out the garden hose and trashcan lid. Fuckin little bastards. Well, big bastards as they were all bigger and older than we were.
Parents refused to get us Super Soakers. hahah They were probably ridiculously expensive back when they first came out, and were mega-popular. |

![]() If the 50 is the AK-47, the 100 is the RPK. My brothers and I had a few 50s, but the capacity of the 100 was a game changer so we stopped using the 50s. ![]() I also had an XP Triple Play. It was really nice for running and gunning, but the reservoir was really small, and reloading was a bigger pain than it should have been because the clips held the tank in very snugly. |

Growing up in New England in the 80s. I remember these were the shit for a short time - and then some ne'er-do-well's started loading them up with bleach and then 10 o'clock news went to town on them. I remember going to toy stores and seeing boxes of these things wrapped up in police caution tape (no that is not hyperbole), they were outlawed. It was an interesting childhood. But hey, at least we could still play lawn dar--

Haha damn, I remember every single model posted in here so far. My dad even got into them so we had a bunch, plus my friends all had them so it's a little fuzzy remembering exactly which ones I owned. My dad used to sneak up on my friends and I while we played in the backyard and blast us with the CPS 2000. Good times.

There was a point at which the sizes became too big. If it requires a shoulder strap and takes 20 pumps to shoot, then you'll be losing any super soaker battles.
I would use a CPS 2000 for an initial salvo and then use an XP 105 for mobility. Unless my older brother was also playing and then we'd fight over it and I would get always get the smaller one. :'( ![]() ![]() .........weekend is only half over. |

I once had a Battery operated Tec-9 watergun with a clip. It was a serious bitch to refill because the water hole was really small. But it looked exactly like a Tec, black matte and everything. Back before they were afraid of kids pulling on a cop and getting shot.
