And Nintendo don't do judges week. ...I think. Generally, I believe it's already announced games anyway. |

It's not all about preferences. Depth, balancing, etc all come in to play as well.

The reality of E3 is that it is a trouble magnet, judging by what I've heard on podcasts and forums and all sorts, so yes, not all the trouble is saved, even for a judge :P
I imagine it's crazy limited if so. Also, DKCR was developed in the US, so leak potential was like 500% higher for that one, haha |

They've been playing their cards right in rebranding the PS3 with the classic font, the blue associated with the previous hardware and even that iconic PLAY-STA-TION tick at the end of their videos or commercials. They just need to keep delivering on awesome, awesome exclusives and free online, while also improving PSN, although I doubt they'll be able to do that without new hardware (like the VITA having cross game chat). This is what I was thinking. For Pachter to get that excited about a game and grin like a kid, it has to be something big. Soul Sacrifice looks awesome but it's definitely not for everyone and definitely not mass marketable. He said it's something big so I'd expect a big AAA exclusive to shock everyone. Every time Sony lets all these other big cats out of the bag, they have to have at least one big shocker to have everyone leave going "wow..." I won't get my hopes up but I really hope they bring it at E3. |

This E3 seems like it will be really boring. Gen is starting to get stale ...

I don't think this will be as big as people think it will. Not that many people have Vitas, and unless you're double dipping... consoles (specifically Xbox360) will be the platform of choice for the COD player.

I'm interested too to see what Sony has in store for Vita. I'm really interested in the hardware, but the software is too lacking for my tastes. I need more than Persona 4 to get me to pick one up. In terms of Microsoft ... I kind of don't care any more. I use my 360 whenever a third party game comes out here or there. |

So SONY = Games and possibly a hint of what the PS4 will do without any specific details about PS4.
MS = Strategy to make it simpler for stupid xbox owner to waste money on over priced content and banking on Halo and Call of Duty. Lets see how it turns out. I honestly can't see MS showing a console, they are selling higher end console for 449.99. |

Gears was well crafted? Did you play Gears 2 online? It was one of the worst multiplayer experiences of the generation.

I feel the same way. I'm not sure why people are convinced that CoD will be the savior for the system in the West.

The Sess is looking like an evil madman at this point, dem muttonchops!
I was just curious, but what is Pachters view on Blizzard? Has he ever commented on what he thinks of their titles at any point? It's far fetched of course but I think it would be a pretty big deal if Sony were somehow able to get Diablo 3 onto the Vita. I want to play it, but I don't have alot of interest in playing it on PC for a variety of reasons, so if that were even possible it would atleast be big for me... The way that he said it though, it looked it was something that "he" personally would enjoy playing and the two franchises that I know he's personally a fan of are GTA, and Fallout/Bethesda RPGs. All I know is that if Sony wants to hit their goal of Vitas sold, then they are going to have to push it at E3, game announcements, serivce announcements, pushing out content on a more regualar basis, getting PSuite out the door, and probably a price drop would all do well for it. I still think one of Sony's biggest issues with the Vita though is that right now it's the same price as their home console which will make it much more difficult for the average consumer to pick the Vita when they can get the PS3 for the same price. I also think that they should have shut down PSP development before the Vita launch, and try to convince japanese developers to push their titles onto the Vita instead, because whatever the PSP is selling, is a sale that "could" have gone to the Vita. |

Pretty much. And vita is getting pretty close to the scary HD gaming, which a lot of japan game devs are still a bit iffy about.

Maybe not a savior like monhun in jp with it's crazy long legs, but it'll definotely move some hardware, although I have to see if it's a port or original new game. If it's a new game adding into the story of console blops2, I can see it be quite big.

Yup, not to derail this thread further but that's why I'm actually really curious about Nintendo's internal Japanese studios doing HD. We'll see how they handle it.

An unannounced Vita game sounds interesting. Assuming it isn't Call of Duty, GTA would probably be the safe bet. Other wild ideas would probably be Skyrim, Battlefield, or some Resident Evil game.
I don't think it can be a first party game though. They need to show that third parties are backing them up with exclusive games the way they give the 3DS exclusives. |

It's going to be interesting on what Patcher and the other guys are going to say about Nintendo. Probably a lot of "Oh Nintendo is too late with worse hardware than the PS360, ah hyuck ah hyuck " kind of thing :/ How funny when in the beginning of this gen everyone was crying that the consoles today should be Multimedia boxes and now they should play games only lol :P |

You're talking to a guy who thinks the Neo Geo was the greatest home console ever. All it did was play games. All it needed to. And it did it wonderfully. =)

I just think it would be a big deal on Diablo 3 for two reasons, One is that it's Diablo 3, and two is that Blizzard does not usually do consoles, let alone handhelds, So Sony getting their next big release on the Vita would be huge imo....I doubt it's going to happen, but pacther seemed almost too happy about whatever the Vita game he say was. The wait for E3 feels like it's getting longer :( |

Yup, Sony and MS are getting stale. Nintendo has my full attention this year, the only company that cares that I need a new system.

Weather and News Channels say otherwise and I'll eat my hat if they don't return on the WiiU in some shape.
During the GCN times Nintendo really hammered that they were only about the games. It was the Nintendo Difference™! |
