No, I kind of went on no info for this movie. It wouldn't surprise me if it's R given the pedigree, but the last trailer thread seemed to indicate it was definitely PG-13 meaning it would sorta be filmed that way.

I was under the impression that not all of the audio recording was from the actual film. The people talking in it sounded like caricatures. Also my guess for the offending content that ultimately landed this thing an R is the caesarian alien removal that shit looks intense

My own theory is that theres no c-section at all, what is shown in the trailers is just a scanner, what I think is happening is that she's actually giving birth, forcefully, by someone that holds her in that device. Which is why all this rape theories seem out of place, Scott has mentioned again and again that this isn't an Alien movie, and I think that the sexual horror which is the staple of the series is being left aside to tackle other type of terror, and that is the one of getting impregnated, and not in the "I'm stuck with a kid" sense, but in the "theres some nasty thing growing inside me", imagine an insect laying their larvae inside you, that type of thing. It also links with the Prometheus myth, remember how Prometheus is chained, his liver eaten up only to be regenerated again and again? I don't know why I have the feeling their "punishment" of sorts is having to give birth over and over.

But crazy theory aside, now that I typed all that, an R rating isn't exactly a good sign to be honest, the nice thing about Alien was its subtlety, having explicit rape, gore and death is something I'm not really looking forward to. Most of the deaths in the original actually happened of camera. And the sexual stuff was never explicit, is only after the film got so successful that people over-analyzed it and got the writers original intentions, but you never quite got all that after a first view, only a sense of discomfort you couldn't exactly describe.

I didn't say it was only about rape. But it uses sexual images and rape to induce its horror. Therefore rape is a part of the series. None of this outright slaps you in the face (unless you're paying attention), but it is there.
