Honestly, looking at the Bikes in Burnout, that was probably their test on whether it would work or not, and if you've sank time into it, you'll see the shortcomings of such a design right now: Burnout bikes removed more cars on the road than the normal game, and were all time trial/beat the clock events.

And given how you would want to do tracks as a more linear experience, EA's SSX might infact be a closer fit on how you would want a Road Rash game to play like.

Just set it to all bikes in the Mode Editor and it helps make the wait for the next Road Rash that little bit easier.

theBishop, I still play it online. Make that purchase. :)

The 3DO version was better than the PS1 port of the same game, but the PS1 version is still a ton of fun. Much better sense of speed than the Genesis series, but not quite as much battling focus as the Genesis series.

I had the first portable version of 1-3. (on my NOMAD. )

(now I have all 4 on a certain portable. )

Well, I wouldn't want it to be an open-world game. Basically I just want Burnout 3 with bikes and weapons instead of bodychecking cars.

If EA ever decided to make this game (even for mobile) I would be all over it. RR is one of my all time favorites, and the opportunity to work on a new one would kick all kinds of ass!

Yes please! I would love a new Road Rash. I don't know why there hasn't been one yet. the game was so fun, and would be so cool on current consoles.

Same and same. Those later sections in the City with the one way streets into head on traffic were a killer. I bought a 3DO primarily for Road Rash and Need for Speed.

At this point in the generation it would make a LOT of sense if Criterion could convince EA to let them take a small team and prototype a Road Rash reboot for next-gen (Xbox 720/PS4). I say "small team" and "prototype" because the fact that we haven't gotten a proper new Burnout makes it clear that EA has no interest in letting Criterion do anything besides the cash-cow NFS franchise. And, from a sheer business perspective, it's kind of hard to argue with them on that, as much as it sucks for us gamers to have Burnout Crash be the only Burnout we get.

Also, we're too late in the cycle for any publisher to work up the nerve to release a "new" IP (let's face it, for most of the general public, it would essentially be a new IP), but come the launch window of the next consoles, the handcuffs can come off.

Am I crazy on this?

I am intrigued by your vision and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

I was thinking something similar when I first read the thread. To a lot of gamers today it would look like a new IP and it would be a great addition to to a launch consoles library.

I wonder if the same structure of the game would be enjoyed today with a new lick of paint. A few routes each getting longer as you level up and each one with a few alternate paths. I'm sure some out-of-touch adults would deem it unsafe and encouraging road rage. Lol.

I played road rash 2 or 3 on the genesis over a spring break and have been craving a new entry the last few years. Maybe I will get motorstorm to scratch that itch. Did fuel have any violent bike racing?

The first racing game I ever loved. I miss it so much. I'm nowhere near a racing game fan, but Road Rash...and Skitchin'...were the only games that made me dabble in the genre. This talk of Motorstorm:Apocalypse is tempting me to make a spontaneous purchase.

If they did a new Road Rash, I'd hope they'd go with the aesthetic of the Genesis games over the 3DO/PSX/Windows version or later games. I don't like the super deformed/disgusting character thing they had going in those later games.
