Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

Then again I'm in the south and most people should be able to make their own fried chicken around here. *shrug* |

LOL, I miss Publix from my years in Florida. We don't have them up here in Washington state.

Outside of New Orleans, it's a little more hit and miss. Louisiana in general is a little better than other states, and it radiates out from there like a fallout cloud. Here in Houston, it can be pretty good, if you go to the right stores. Unfortunately, most of those stores aren't in good parts of the city. My favorite place is nearish a Church's... between those two it's like trying decide if you want to be shot and stabbed or shot, stabbed, and set on fire. KFC is a lot better about consistency and quality control. They are the McDonalds of the chicken vendors. The only real consistency Popeyes has are the spice mix and the biscuit batter. |

KFC's my favorite fast food joint. Been eating there for 25+ years, so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if most of the blood that's running through my arteries is probably replaced by the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices.
My favorite items: popcorn chicken buttermilk biscuits spicy crispy chicken strips (best chicken ever, now discontinued) potato wedges (i.e. the best "true" fast food french fries) This board seems to have an unbridled love for Popeye's. Is it some love for the underdog or hatred for the big guy (KFC)? I've had Popeye's a number of times before. I liked the crunchy breading their chicken strips are lathered with, but wasn't impressed by any of the side items. Biscuits were too dry, didn't like the cajun fries. |

When you're talking about fast food burgers and they say "ooh! what about mcdonalds?" don't you lose respect for them? Don't you suspect that they might be terrorists? |
