Popeyes is infinitely superior than KFC on the strength of their sides alone. KFC mashed potatoes and gravy tastes like pulped cardboard poured over mashed construction paper. Almost unfit for human consumption. Popeyes on the other hand has a mashed potato and gravy side so magnificent that I sometimes wonder if it's secreted by a giant alien worm, like Slurm.
When I really have a hankering for some bird, I usually just get a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.

kfc is only good ( original recipe ) if it literally just came out of the fryer and drains briefly. if it isn't served in that 5 to 10 minute window in becomes a disgusting greasy mess. the kfc sides are garbage. popeyes at least maintains a little bit in transit, but it isn't very good either.
pollo campero is the best " chain " fried chicken you can get these days. the stuff i make at home blows doors on all of it so that's how i do it. |

and we're done here.
yeah, that KFC mac is the only thing on the entire menu that's better than the Popeye's version.

I've only had bojangles on the two occassions that I've been to the south, and both times I had it, I thought to myself, 'What's the big deal'? Didn't taste a noticeable difference, but I haven't had KFC chicken in like a decade, so may be it's gotten terrible over time. I don't usually go for fast-food fried chicken, but if I do, it's Popeyes, and it's amazing. But the reality is that all pale in comparison to doing it on your own. After picking up tips from my mom, dad, and grandmom, I make the most amazing fried chicken ever.
So it's really Me > Popeyes > Bojangles > KFC |

All the KFCs I've ever been to (midwest) have horrible soggy chicken that basically tastes like a bunch of pepper and has the consistency of a wet sock.
I swear when people say they love that, they're talking about some other place. Are they better in some other region? I mean at the very least I expect fried chicken to be somewhat crispy. Do they serve this anymore? I went to a KFC in Iowa a couple months ago and when I ordered it, the cashier literally said, "We don't serve that anymore." Not, "we're all out."

KFC is far better than Popeye's. The original recipe is perfection. Fuck the "grilled" chicken, fuck the extra crispy.
Holy shit no. Chicken Selects, on the other hand, are indeed very good.

I also like Popeyes, too. Popeyes is at least more consistent. |

Chicken is delicious regardless. You have to be a special kind of incompetent to fuck up chicken. KFC, Popeyes, Church's, even that shit they sell at the local grocery store thats been sitting there for hours. It's all good.
Cept Chick-fil-a, fuck that place. Oh and KFC's cole slaw is the shit. The mac and cheese is garbage and the biscuits are terrible, but the cole slaw is heavenly.

Don't know if you are being sarcastic but I indeed feel the same way about pizza. You have to try really hard to fuck up pizza. Pizza hut, dominos, papa johns, they all make tasty pizza. It's just that some places make slightly tastier pizza. But you'd have to be a complete fucking dipshit to turn down a piece of pizza from any of the "big" chains when you are hungry.
