I still haven't gotten glasses for my Panasonic ST30, so I haven't played any console games in 3D. My PS3 has had several YLODs over the last year, so when I eventually get around to buying the glasses, the PS3 will probably be dead. I'm most looking forward to playing Ico and SOTC in 3D.
I play in 3D on the 3DS the whole time, with the exception of Revelaitons, it just looks so much better in 2D. |

I have a 3DTV, and whilst I don't mind playing games in 3D I honestly just could not be fucked putting the glasses on. It's not that much of a hassle, but it's not really worth the extra effort either. I only play games in 3D on my 3DS that are worthwhile (Super Mario 3D Land)

I just recently picked up a pair of PlayStation 3D glasses to go with my Panasonic 50" GT30 and over the past two days I've been basically trying 3D for the first time with a bunch of games.
I'm loving it so far. I was pretty skeptical at first but once I tried it, it was great. Here's how I'd rate the 3D in the games I've played so far: AAA Tier 3D [The 3D is REALLY, REALLY good] -Super Stardust HD (PS3) A Tier 3D [The 3D is very well done and/or implemented] -Uncharted 3 (PS3) -Batman Arkham City (360) -Crysis 2 (360) -Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) -Assassins Creed Revelations (PS3) -Wipeout HD (PS3) -Motorstorm Pacific Rift (PS3) [Demo] B Tier 3D [The 3D is pretty good or adds a neat effect] -Gears of War 3 (360) -Swords & Soldiers (PS3) -Motorstorm Apocalypse (PS3) [Demo] -Killzone 3 (PS3) C Tier 3D [The 3D is meh or below average] -Mortal Kombat (PS3) Games I haven't tried in 3D yet but I plan to when I get around to them: -SOCOM 4 (PS3) -The Fight Lights Out (PS3) -Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition (360) -Resistance 3 (PS3) -ICO/SOTC Collection (PS3) -Call of Duty Black Ops (PS3) |

I've only tried it with Gears of War 3, and it was pretty cool. I liked it, it worked well. I tried it because it was the only thing I owned with which I could try out my new TV's 3D effect, heh, so it's nice Gears had it.
I've since gotten Batman: Arkham City, but I haven't tried out the 3D in it yet. I've been meaning to. |

Rather than render two camera angles like true 3D, they render the image for one eye, apply a depth map to the same image, and pass off the resulting frame as the second eye view. It looks like the early rushed postconverted movies, like Last Airbender and Clash of the Titans.

I do! :)
I got my 3DTV back in January and I've gradually been trying out all of the 3D games I have. So far I've played and recommend these games in 3D(all PS3): -Avatar: The Game (it's not automatic 3D, but still looks pretty great) -Child of Eden -ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD -Sonic Generations -Super Stardust HD -Uncharted 3 Other 3D games I have but have yet to try: -Assassin's Creed: Revelations (already finished it before I got the TV) -Batman: Arkham City (just sold my copy to upgrade to the upcoming GOTY edtion) -Crysis 2 (got it for $2.50 used with Best Buy coupons, haven't gotten around to it yet) -Motorstorm Apocalypse (got it on clearance a while back, haven't gotten around to it yet) -several Playstation Move games that I got on clearance over the last few years Also, my TV is able to do "Simulated 3D" which converts 2D content into 3D. It's not perfect, but I tried playing Rez HD on 360 in simulated 3D and it was amazing! |

From what I played today, it was pretty cool to experience. I found playing Crysis 2 to be one of the better 3D experiences. |

I do occasionally, but I have a beefy rig that can run PC games in 3D at 1080p, maxed settings, and average 50-60fps.
That experience makes it very hard to go back to my consoles and play in 3D, sub-HD, <30 fps etc. Some console games look like a beast in 3D, but I can't help but feel it's a bit too much for this round of consoles. I think next-gen will do it justice. Yup. I use nvidia 3d vision and it's great. They also have new monitors out for 3d vision 2 that makes the picture brighter, and the glasses are wider. It's a pretty good experience.

Motorstorm Apocalypse and WipEoutHD/Fury.
So so good in 3D. You must play these. Silent Hill Downpour really does seem to perform better in 3D than 2D. The effect is good. Resistance 3 was absolutely worth playing in 3D. Very immersive. Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 were OK in 3D. Better in 2D. De Blob 2 looks amazing in 3D. Game didn't grab me though. Tumble. In 3D with Move controllers, you'll feel like Tom Cruise in that movie. Especially if you're wearing shades, socks and underpants and cranking some Bob Segar. Oh wait. Child of Eden. 3D makes you trip harder. Sonic Generations. The impression of depth is very good but I found this one too hard on my eyes to persist with. Batman Arkham City does a pretty good job of fake 3D. It's no match for real stereoscopic 3D but it manages to give the illusion of depth without compromising the visuals.

You know... Nintendo stuff.
Anyway it's not like i can't see the effect or have bad eyesight the fact is that i don't like it one bit, think it doesn't add anything to the experience and i can totally see in the long run damaging your eyes if you do long sessions of gameplay so in the end for me not using it is like to pick two birds with one stone. |

It's like that for everybody at first. It took about an hour for me to get used to it, but now my eyes don't have to work at all to adjust.

I play 3D on my HMZ-T1 all the time.
Craps all over my 3DTV in comparison. No crosstalk etc.. I love and support 3D. If a games got it, i'll get it. It's more immersive than playing in normal 2D. Socom 4 Uncharted 3 Batman AC StarDust HD Resistance 3 Gran Turismo 5 Killzone 3 Mortal Kombat and many more, all awesome! Can't what for that one to release on this weeks update Cant remember whats its called atm dammit.. starts with D. ? edit: Datura Most Playstation 3 games in 3D is wicked (depending of), but Next Gen i hope SONY will allow 1080p 3D since they put the restrictions on the PS3 (i'm pretty sure i read somewhere) and the only one to allow/had 1080p was Stardust HD i think before they put the cap on. And, to make it compulsory to include an option for 3D in all games, but that's wishfull thinking. Especially with peoples comments like Todd Howard,... and yet could'nt even get their game working properly in 2D! LOL 3D would be the only way i'd fly, if i could.

I just started playing games in 3D on my HMZ and Killzone 3 was an unreal experience, I finished it in 2 days and just ordered Resistance 3 cause I need that 3D FPS fix again .
Flicker free 3D without any crosstalk on a freaking huge virtual screen , the scale of that huge mech near the end was breath taking . |

As far as a full 3D tv, I do my gaming on one, but I don't play in 3D that often. Some I do though, and they are really impressive, SotC looks real nice in 3D. |

Depending on the lighting conditions around you it can actually become very difficult to enjoy. I sometimes game a bit over lunch and the bright lights in my office reflect on the screen making it more difficult to see. With 3D games, it just becomes annoying and I wind up turning it off. If I play the system in a dark room I'll usually use the 3D function, but it just doesn't work for me in all cases. The viewing angle is also an issue if I'm not seated in a comfortable position that allows me to keep it steady. Also, in some cases, games can operate at a faster framerate OR offer anti-aliasing when using the non-3D mode. I enjoy 3D quite a bit, but the 3DS isn't as well suited to it as I would have liked. A larger, brighter screen with a wider viewing angle would do wonders for the system. |

I game in 3D about a quarter of the time on my PS3.
Some games make little difference, some are made worse, others better. I've found generally if it's a graphically impresive game it isn't worth using, as they usually take a hit in visuals. Racers seem to do the best in my opinion, with Motorstorm, Gran Turismo and Wipeout being better for it. Crysis 2 was ok aswell. Uncharted wasn't great with it for me, the visual hit was to much in single player. I also found R3 unplayable in 3D, as the point the crosshairs met made shooting difficult. It hindered the game. |

Since I'm a proponent of stereo 3D, and since this thread is still fairly recent, I'd just like to point out that the 3D in Halo Anniversary is fantastic! I purchased it in the recent Toys R Us sale and I was not expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it is. I'm not sure if it surpasses Shadow of the Colossus as the best showpiece for the tech, but anybody who enjoys 3D gaming has to try it out.

I use the 3D on my 3DS all the time because why not, it's there, it's one of the main features and in most games it looks great. Doesn't strain my eyes, don't have many problems with ghosting or losing the 3D. Honestly, I really like it. Some games don't do the 3D as well as others, but there's never been a case where I've had to turn it off completely.
As for consoles/PC, I don't have a 3D monitor or anything, though I'm willing to bet if I did it would be on a per-game basis, unlike the 3DS where I have it on all the time. It would depend on whether the console/PC could handle it well or not with little sacrifices to the graphics. That and if I could be bothered or not to put on the glasses. Don't have a problem with glasses but obviously with the 3DS it's there right in front of me with no effort on my part. I'll probably wait until glasses-free 3DTVs or something for 3D console/PC gaming. |

I always thought 3d was merely a gimmick, i doesn't impress me in movies (the one i saw, anyway) and photos.. there's this cardboard effect going on that is ugly :\.
But i was curious about games, so i decided to take the risk and pick up a 120hz monitor with Nvidia 3d vision 2 (since i have an nvidia card) to try them. First i hooked up my ps3, tried SotC, Ico and Uncharted 3; the first two were ok, but again i was a bit underwhelmed, the latter was far better, really natural round shapes and cool looking, still though, not incredibly impressed. I was a bit bummed, to be honest, but then i hooked it up to the PC and tried a few games (Just Cause 2, Trine 2, Batman Arkham City, Tomb Raider Underworld, Napoleon Total War, The Witcher 2 and others) and.. i never eat a crow this tasty, wow, this shit is unbelievable, Trine 2 is literally a physical diorama inside the screen, Just Cause 2 with superman mod in 3D is astonishing and so are all the others. Frankly i'm seriously shocked by how well it works, it's fucking with my brain. I was playing Assassin's Creed 2 when a flying leaf "left" the screen coming in my face, and i instinctively dodged; i felt like a fucking moron, but it was awesome. Well, now i'm definitely a believer in the technology, if done right. EDIT: I want to add that unfortunately, several games have minor to huge bugs, but so far i'm pretty satisfied with the ratio of unplayable versu playable games, i wish it had more support, though.

Nope, dont care for it and it's a power hog at that so I'd want it to remain the meek afterthought it is currently. It's a shame the 3DS is saddled with it, especially on that one cm viewing angle shit screen on a wobbly hinge, but at least theres a few games on the platform that add anti aliasing and other perks when you turn it off. Should be a damn requirement, I am disappointed when I flip it off and it's still a jagged mess with no compensation.

yeah I love 3D gaming..
we have a 80" 3DTV in the living room....and I have 42" Plasma 3D in my room (which I don't use for 3D anymore)...and I have the Sony HMZ 3D head mount. I want to play Skyrim in 3D though, but I don't have a rig.....anyone know if AMD A6 laptop with 6gbs of ram could handle that? |
