Were you a 90s gamer? Thread of awesome flash game #1

Were you a 90s gamer?

So someone uploaded a pretty damn brilliant flash game, consisting of over 90 questions which give you themes from various games in the 90s (predominately SNES and Megadrive games) and simply ask you to put in the name of the game, or simply the name of the main protagonist of the game.

Now, not only is it brilliant, it is also fucking hard as fuck. I've been at it for a good few hours, attempting to do it without hints and I've only come up with 32 games so far.

So GAF, go for it. Somebody impress me. Somebody on here is bound to get absolutely every single game without using any hints whatsoever.

Thought this thread was about awesome obscure flash games from the internet of the nineties. Was ready to post about how the cartoon network site used to be my bitch in that regard.

yeah no. I can get some of these, but there's no way I'll get them all without hints. Even with hints, there's probably no way with some of these, just because I haven't played them all, and I know it.

43 correct answers without tips or screens, i'm actually surprised I got that far, considering they actually have some obscure shite on there. It's cool though, would play again if I did not know the answers now.

I only got 21... Some of their hints were pretty bad. I shouldn't have to give them hint coins for them to tell me its a platformer or a beat em up when that's plainly obvious from the screenshot.

Too many SNES/Genesis games, not enough Amiga/PC/PS1/N64 stuff. C'mon son.

Still, these are always fun. ^_^

Surely you just need one question:

Did you play games between the years 1990 and 2000?

Quiz failed when it asked me for the music from StarWING. Back in the 90s we had two names for the first Starfox game.

I wonder, is 90's video game music memorable because it was actually good, or because when your a kid you grow up with this stuff and it becomes second nature kind of like a language.

Also, every other song sounds like a MegaMan song to me =/

Well I've discovered songs I like from old games this decade so there were some good compositions. It does help that they have a strong melody whereas music today tends to be more atmospheric.

No, it really wasn't. And I was a 80's gamer myself.
90's were better in any possible way.

That said, yes, I was a 90's gamer too, but I was way more in love with Amiga and PC games. SNES and Genesis (Sega Megadrive, here) were an afterthought for me.

Agreed. I gamed in 80's and 90's and I think 90's had the better games overall. 80's were rather "conservative". 90s got a bit riskier.

What many of these tests, polls, etc, forget is that while many of us were 90s gamers, gaming was different for most of us then. I was 6 in 1990, 16 in 2000, I played many iconic games but finances were different for me. My siblings & i got 1 or 2 games a year, we got them for Christmas or maybe birthdays. It wasn't like now where, at 28,I can buy any game that I want. For that reason, I didn't play many great 90s games because, well, shit, I didn't have a job.
