Who would you revive?

My choice has to be Free Radical. Their death was one of the saddest days in gaming history for me. Timesplitters R.I.P.

I have to second this. Folklore was a so great for a new ip. It being overlooked is a crime.

Clover. Platinum is pretty cool but every thing Clover put out was more of my thing. Things were so much more colourful and friendly. Yes even God Hand gave a friendly punch to the balls.

They're still around "in spirit" (via Million and Miracle Kidz), but I wonder what Technos Japan could have done if they didn't go belly up back in the '90s.

I'd like to add Pandemic to the list. Their games weren't always great, but I loved Mercs 2 and wish they didn't go under.

There is only one correct answer:

The original Ensemble Studios team responsible for AOEII and Age of Mythology. Magnificent.

Nintendo.

They never recovered from their diasterous defeat in the 16 bit wars. Going third party with Super Mario 64 and teaming with Sega to do the underrated but hard as Balls Outrun GX and AX looked like they were on the right foot but the continued shit that the Mario Cycle produced was just too much.

Sad to see them in this state. Pachinko games and publishing other people's games, and now with the exodus from NOA to NOE. They've really lost their way. Int Sys was broken up and the move of Fire Emblem from the PS3 to the PSP and lack of the localization of the third game has fans dispirited beyond belief. All the great gaming minds from the company reduced to making XBLA and social games.

Sure, Galaxy and Mario Generations seemingly broke the Mario Cycle but now they are only going to make games from four franchises. Mario, Kirby, Zelda, and that football sim. Their partnership with Platinum games seems to be over.

Strategic Simulations Inc...

They made all sorts of strategy games (from the Comic Balance an early Space 4x game to Panzer General and its spinoffs and my personal favorite Sword of Aragon), dozens of of great RPGs (Questron, D&D Gold Box, Eye of the Beholder, Star Command, Phantasie, etc), even sports games (Tony LaRussa Baseball), simulations.

Origin. I loved Wing Commander and Ultima. I can't believe EA tore the company apart and then took the name and logo for their download service.

Well, I mean, I'm pretty much going to say "XXXX company circa 10 years ago," cause my heart aches for Squaresoft, but in terms of companies that are really completely defunct? I dunno. Black Isle. Can I say "Team Silent"? It is so painful that they are gone.
