Sega isn't dead, per se, but the company certainly isn't what it used to be. I wouldn't mind seeing Sega restored to its past glory. I wouldn't want a Dreamcast 2, nor would Sega. Sega could do something far more interesting that releasing a sequel to a console. (I'm not counting revisions of consoles as sequels.)

Yeah. Looking Glass, no contest.
Plenty of other valid suggestions here, by the way. My chart (following Looking Glass, unmatchable champions) would be something like: - Origin - Troika - Westwood - Black Isle - Bullfrog - Microprose (the true one)

I don't mean to derail my own thread, but I can go on and on about this and it does sort of have to do with once great companies. |

![]() The ActRaiser games, the Soul Blazer trilogy, and Robotrek are all games that I'm extremely fond of. Illusion of Gaia was the first game that got me interested in historical structures and architecture to the point where I had to get my hands on any books in the library that featured these structures and more. Quintet ended up introducing me to games that twist history to their benefit, and that's probably one of my favourite subgenres now. I wish Quintet were still around. Speaking of stuff I like that have died/have been left to die... Konami. A shell of their former selves. They don't even make games anymore outside of Benami and KojiPro stuff. Predictably, I'm quite sour about how they've treated the Genso Suikoden series (ie: a lack of a Suikoden VI even though I'm content with how Woven Web turned out outside of a few gameplay and presentation issues). |
