Why are almost all Facebook games isometric? I had to do a double check to make sure I wasn't looking at yet another *ville clone.
This game wishes it were anything like Pokemon. |

As for this, it's Insomniac so I'm sure it'll be quality. My only problem is I won't be able to play it because you couldn't pay me to open a facebook account again. Upload it to armorgames! ;) |

If you're trying to get people to calm down and see the game's merits, insulting another game series isn't the way to go, especially when the insults are tired and worn out and not even really true.

Impartiality when it comes to Insomniac is probably not his strong-suit. Just a guess.

It also doesn't have ground breaking story or narrative. You know what it does have though? Fun. So clearly it is a bit foolish and premature to say "lol no thanks Facebook games all suck hahahaha". This doesn't look too far removed from a good downloadable title, or mobile game at a core level. Wait and see, that's all I'm saying. MuseManMike - True, but I'd do the same if folks were poopooing another studio just the same for exploring new avenues. There is no harm in this, so I don't get all the overreaction and hate. The assumption that this will be a FarmVille clone is far fetched and baseless, and basically screams "I've never even tried FarmVille!".

I've bounced that idea back and forth a couple of times. If they start getting a lot of stuff I'm into game-wise then that will probably push me over the edge. I really, really don't like Facebook though. I actively dislike facebook even.

"You 'hardcore' gamers get dick hard over recycled Pokemon games generation after generation with little visual improvement, and you're not even willing to give this a shot? Embarrassing for 'hardcore' gamers." Pokemon was probably one of the most random series you could have picked, too. It doesn't even match up with your inane and intellectually dishonest "I like guns" derpapalooza. Basically, the comment was uncalled for, in every sense. Going after Pokemon of all things? I know who posts in Pokemon threads, and there's almost no overlap with this one. And even still Pokemon isn't a shining example of a hardcore series anyways. Why not a bigger target like Uncharted? Well the comment still would have been dumb but it wouldn't have been as dumb. |

My point is that most folks here didn't get past "Facebook" before they started shitting up the thread. They don't even have a clue as to what the game is. They just saw isometric view, facebook, and immediately thought it was a farmville clone. If this were announced as a PSN/XBLA title, this thread would be considerably different. |

If you want to learn a little more about the game before deciding way too early if you like it/hate it or us, then read this IGN piece:

that's what I'm saying, don't judge it just yet, it's a relatively deep RPG, and easily the longest/biggest game we've ever made in terms of game content. Tons of quests, progression vectors and content to see and master

Is there voice acting? I'm not expecting there to be, but it would be awesome if there was...

So, that is the first Insomniac game I'll never be playing. I don't care for Facebook games as it often requires me to bother my friends or to invest via microtransactions to fully enjoy them. (I even block everyone that sends me app requests more than five times.)

With this title and as well Loot Drop's Ghost Recon fbook game, we're starting to see social games created from scratch by experienced game teams. It will be really interesting to see how these games will be different from other social games and how these teams will change the experience.
Many social and facebook games up to this point have been created by people from a web background, not a games background. |

It's going to take a lot to get me to stop playing Triple Town. Does your game have Ninja Bears?

Did anyone play the Dragon Age fb game? It was made by one of the most veteren RPG dudes in the biz. Just wondering.
To the butthurt fans - get over it, this is the current reality of gaming. To insomniac - you should aim at the younger crowd that knows less about your console history, and has the time to blow on goddamn facebook. Overall, I have no time to play any games anymore except when I take a shit. So, I think you should make a Ratchet iOS game with short, replayable levels, and costumes for $1. iOS is about replayability, simplicity, cuteness. All attainable with Ratchet IP. I just realized I don't even know if you outright own Ratchet, but anywho... |

Granted, it's going to have to adopt some of the 'annoyances' to actually make money, but I'm willing to bet I'll be able to get some fun out of it without paying or harassing friends. Even if I did pay for something, it would probably end up being pretty cheap compared to the price normally paid for games. I see this as being potentially a really positive step for facebook games, and I think it shouldn't be written off yet. |
