Although I didn't sign up. There's a question there that asked "Have you ever made and published a level in LBP?", and then I realized, even though I own both games on the PS3, I've never actually published a level. I'm probably not the best beta tester for this one. :P |

LBP Vita seems like it's going to be LBP2 running on the Vita, and I think I remember some previews saying the touch controls were a sensible addition and really added to the game - particularly in creating levels. |

I agree, the touchscreen controls alone will add a lot to the experience. I've only played the PSP version a bit, and it looked kind of rough compared to the console version, but the Vita should do a lot better in that regard. This could potentially be my go-to LBP game in the future. |

Especially when one considers that the mini-games the community could make lend themselves very well to pick-up and play gaming that suits a handheld, but can also make deeper levels for when you have more time to play. I'm betting on a lot of iOS/Android app rip-offs.

Was it closer to LBP 2 than LBP? Did it have a lot more options when it came to the type of game you wanted to create?

I'm afraid I only got to play a few levels, good doctor, but I can tell you that they were very diverse. One was a straight up LBP2 styled platformer that used touch and gyro controls very well (the back touch stuff was the best). One other level was a two player game that was a mix between soccer and chess. The last was in the vein of Peggle where you used the touch screen to change the path of falling objects.

Try and follow the instructions in the OP about copying and pasting the URL and see if you can get it to work. I had to repeat this step a few times before it changed from 'You don't have permission to view this page" to "LittleBigPlanet Beta Sign-Up". Once the page loads up it takes about 10 seconds to check a few boxes and you're done.
