This will sell.
Once. The target demo has lots of disposable cash. If I was her, I'd frontload heavily on the direct to digital tracks. One dollar per mp3, etc. And put it towards a college degree. NYU. Kyoot-core rap will not become a thing. (please God. please. no.) it's cool how she doesn't mind if he snorts coke, even though it's really not her thing.

This thread is retarded. This girl is retarded, don't get me wrong. But half of the posters in this thread are worse.
Guys, you're right. Not only did your generation never make a bad, dumb song, but this current generation is definitely defined by this girl and her stupid YouTube song. There will never be another protest song again. Keep hugging your grunge records and crying yourself to sleep. |

Funny, I though a weak flow and banal lyrics meant you were an awful rapper. Azealia Banks, that chick has some awesome flow. 212 contains some of the most rhythmic, punchy delivery I've ever heard. So good. |

The stuff we listened to as kids at least had to make it on MTV or the radio. There's used to be a content filter of sorts. Which was bad and good, so I'm glad it's gone. Oh god you said that 3 days ago, why did I bump this monster.

It's difficult not to perceive this girl with at least a little skepticism. A 19-year-old comes from out of nowhere with a song that's got an alright flow and lyrical potential. The hipster shit (and believe me, I fucking hate using that word) that permeates the lyricism and video seems to be done quite ironically, at least in my eyes and ears. However, all of that could have been somebody else's idea entirely. To me it's a little difficult to discern whether this is manufactured bullshit or, genuinely, her lyrical style/skill. If it's the former then she'll be washed away in a few years and that'll be that. If it's the latter, then I have to commend the girl for trying something just a little bit off the beaten path. And let's face it, these songs aren't club-material. That's typically the easy path to the millions. Her spoken-word method isn't original by any means, but it has a soft touch to it. I have to use a Lana Del Rey comparison here, just because there are similar elements. However, I've only ever listened to one LDR song (Video Games, which I still think is decent), so maybe I'm way off-base. Once again though, this girl is merely 19. Her world view at this point is admittedly fairly narrow. If she could continue on as an artist and start to work on heavier material in later years, I'd be interested to take a listen.
In conclusion, she's either gifted, or she's on the cross bar and strings.

Beautiful Lou does work on the beat. Chick sucks though, sounds like a bad Uffie knockoff(lol).
Love Riff Raff's hair down, shit looks downright luxurious. "Squirt"(I want to stick my penus inside Lil Debbie) "Kris Krangle"(I want to stick my penus inside Kid Sister+beat slaps) "Borrow Your Daughter"("Terminator, fuckin' classic, haven't played it yet" booty smell good doe) |

Maybe you have to be there to get it. I liked a girl last year, a couple months before graduating high school (fuck). I found her tumblr on a Sunday afternoon and spent hours clicking through backlogs of her hipster bullshit, hating myself completely but loving her even more by the end of it. Of course, nothing on there really represented her offline personality, but when there's something that reveals more pseudo-character waiting below, it's easier to just scroll down than think about it. Drake remarked pretty intelligently on this last year.
Kitty Pryde's music encapsulates so well this part of modern youth culture that is both fucking stupid and exists. I can't see how it's possible to do this and make Good Art at the same time. I will take this in all its self-awareness and enjoy it a little, for it succeeds completely at what it attempts to do. |
