It's just not the type of game that competes with a lot of the other October releases. I mean, a lot of gamers play a lot of things, but when push comes to shove, people are going to put priority on what appeals to them the most. And I think Dishonored appeals to the Deus Ex/Thief/Dark Messiah crowd which is pretty hungry for more right now.

Yeah, Ass Creed is about assassinations (and I love the series) but Dishonored is way more focused on gameplay mechanics and player ingenuity. Different breed.
The new Deus Ex also did incredibly well because it came out a month before all the big titles started hitting. This is just a dumb idea to launch it in October.

They've only shown gameplay to the press so far. Which is terribly stupid since what I saw in the demo was stable enough to show to the public.

Game is going to get crushed by RE6 and AC3 hype. I also expect more high profile games to be announced for October.

I just wonder why Hunted: The Demon's Forge was the only game from Bethesda since like 2008 that don't use steamworks, it's not because UE3 since that support steamworks since 2010 and they even released it between two games that are steamworks (Brink and Rage),this just bug me to no end.

I loved Dark Messiah. It's what Skyrim combat should have been. Will buy this day 1.

I'll wait for some E3 field report, but if the game has production design and enemy design consistent to what I've seen in the trailer, I'll take my money out of BioInfinite pre-order and get this.
More of a revenge f---- than an act of love, but I need my steampunk fix. Hopefully it won't be some Rage type of experiment and they will deliver in terms of narrative too.
The Gundam's Zion-like uniforms and the Wolf Brigade like opening (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYJI3baz-ec, video is full of spoilers) got me hopeful.

E3 2012 - Interviewing Max Schaefer, Todd Howard & Harvey Smith, your thoughts? #164

I'm fortunate enough to be attend E3 next week for the 3rd year in a row and couldn't be more excited! I'll scheduled to see some really really cool games, however another reason I'm excited is because I'll be interviewing some very talented people. Most notable are these folks:

Todd Howard - Skyrim, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios
Harvey Smith - Dishonored, Lead Designer
Max Schaefer - Torchlight 1 & 2, Runic Games co-founder and CEO

It's worth mentioning I'll be getting hands-on time with Skyrim's DLC Dawnguard and Dishonored too.

Anyway, what questions should I ask them? What would you ask them? It could be about their specific games, game design, game theory, or whatever else is might be interesting.
