(Offical Topic) Train Travel Stories
#1
![]() I thought this would be a good topic to share some interesting stories(or rather experiences) during train travel. Sometimes there are funny moments, others were simply unplesant, some bizarre. I've had my fair share of all of these. And I would like to ask other message boards dwellers to share some of their own. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll start: Funny story: I remember one time in which two gentleman were most likely drunk, spent a good portion of the trip singing (pretty horribly). One of them standing, flubbing all his lines while the other gentleman in question was working the accordion. A lot of people were in a good mood nevertheless. Awkward story: Sat next to a couple in which the lady's cellphone ringtone was the sound of a woman moaning, her boyfriend seem almost too confortable with it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I went to Germany, and needed to catch a train from Stuttgart to Frieburg.
My first problem came when I said "I need to go to Frieburg" and she's like "frieberg or frieburg" I had no idea.. took a guess.. got it right Then she highlights all the trains I have to take (big mistake here: if she offers you the 1 train direct, national rail for 60 euro.. take it, over the 20 euro 5 trains locals) so she highlights the trains and platforms. but doesn't tell me that TRAINS IN GERMANY SPLIT so if you catch teh train from section A of platform X, rather than section B, your carraige will split to another direction. Lets just say, a 2 hour train journey took me around 7 - 8 hours. Fun times. |

There's a great story about an actor named Bert Kreischer who took a train in Soviet Russia. He tells it in this video. Crazy shit. He was there on a school trip, and their group was "protected" by a couple of guys from the mafia. He became friends with the mobsters by crashing a party in their hotelroom, introducing himself as "The Machine", and things kinda escalated from there.
