I dunno, jellyfish LOOK like awesome noodles. But when I eat them they require so much chewing that I get super aware that I am eating and that there is a gnarled up ball of jellyfish tentacles and spit being churned around and ground up in my mouth. And why is this a headline? Are there dozens of legit Chinese restaraunts opening up somewhere? The way the headline reads sounds like its going to be shoved down people's throats or something.

My guess is it is to do with the fact some parts of the ocean are overrun with Jellyfish because we decided it was a good idea to dredge-up all the fish we could. Thing is those fish ate the jellyfish when they are at the polyp stage (or the medusa or an early part at least) of their lifecycle (the lifecycle of jellyfish and even jellyfish themselves are quite, odd...). At least that is what is was like in the 2008 documentary Explorer : Jellyfish Invasion preview here. Apparently rising ocean temperatures make them bloon more often too. Which would mean more of them and maybe hence cheap sea food.

But its newsweek so it could be anything really...

I tried Jellyfish back in College. We were all pretty drunk and I don't remember too much, but I know that it wasn't my thing. Never really tried it since then and don't have a want too. I guess if I was drunk enough and with the right person they could convince me.

The only reason jellyfish is ending up as a meal in restaurants is because the Japanese don't know what to do with them, since there is an invasion of jelly fish because of pollution from China. The fishermen are unable to catch fish anymore, their nets collect jellyfish by the thousands.
