What would it be and what would you do with it?

I imagine I'd go for telekinesis. It would be useful for so many things, and I'd basically feel like a badass as I manipulate things without touching them. I could even help with containing materials that are as of now uncontainable.

And of course I'd use it to fight crime every now and then - who wouldn't?

Assuming we're picking one discrete power (unlike say, Peter's power from Heroes) Nightcrawler-style teleportation.

Teleportation. It's fun and not so powerful that you develop a Spider-man complex of having "great power".

Hell yeah.

It's rare among superpowers in a few ways, in that it has many uses. Straight-up transportation would never be an issue and you don't even have the effort of having to fly. You could save other people from dangerous situations with it. It would make you pretty much unstoppable in combat (think X2's opening sequence and not motherfucking Will.i.am in Wolverine). And it's a pretty perfect reflex-lifesaver, if say you fall off of something tall or a car is coming toward you.

Super-strength, like Spider-Man. It's great because you don't look bulked up like the Hulk or something, so your foes will want to fight you in case they are bigger, but they are guaranteed to lose.

I think it would be awesome to have super reaction time. Just loads of time to think and pull off awesome stunts.

Also you'd never have to kick yourself for missing out on an opportunity that only lasts a few seconds.

Assuming you can't pick a whole suite of stuff like superman, the right answer is teleporation. I wish I had it every time I am stuck in traffic.

I never understood why anyone would care to be fast though when they could just appear anywhere they want instead, when it comes to these kinds of discussions.

Invisibility plus force field would be ok too. I can still rob the bank and use the shield to stop bullets shot at the floating money bags.

Speedforce is pretty damn broken. So is the Hulk tho. Both powersets at the top of their game would probably have Flash bouncing off a super dense hulk who'd just instantly regenerate any damage.

Personally, I'd want Spidey's powers. Not insanely overpowered. Just enough over powered.

Super speed kind of seems like a bad idea. Think about it. If you could travel around the planet in an hour wouldn't you feel Earth was too small for you? Already what takes an ant an hour to walk might take you a few minutes. Eventually you'd just get bored with Earth.

Also manipulating time is freaking scary. Too much potential to fuck stuff up. What if time freezing is not you holding time but rather you shutting off the switch? What happens when you die and everyone's frozen forever? That's pretty fucked up.

Whatever Franklin Richards has.

Quote:
Franklin is a mutant who possesses the power to warp reality, i.e., to make any thought or desire come to fruition, even up to a cosmic scale; conjunctively, he is able to rearrange the molecular structure of matter. In a remarkable display of power, Franklin subconsciously created his own pocket universe, encompassing a virtual replica of Earth-616. As a result, several cosmic entities, including Galactus, Eternity, and Infinity, as well as Omniversal Guardian Roma and Omniversal Majestrix Opal Luna Saturnyne, began to take notice of Franklin's tremendous gifts,[33] going so far to describe him as a "being whom the Celestials felt was on par with themselves."[34]

In addition to reality and molecular manipulation, Franklin has vast psionic powers that have manifested as telepathy, telekinesis, energy blasts of concussive force, precognition, and astral projection. Being a child, however, Franklin's abilities are restricted to an extent by his limited control. Moreover, it remains unclear what power levels Franklin will ultimately achieve as an adult, as several future incarnations from alternate realities have been shown to vary in power.

In terms of unrealized potential, Franklin is generally considered to be the most powerful Earth-bound mutant in the Marvel Universe

That should cover pretty much everything.

edit: For a "simpler" power I'd go with regenerative healing factor like wolverine or deapool. I'll be able to survive gun shots, no disease or poison can kill me and I'll always be at my prime physically. Not to mention that it will make me stronger, have better stamina etc.

PK/TK or time manipulation are the good answers, but the latter would likely drive myself insane. I'd start by fixing big things, then just keep redoing any small thing I messed up. It would be interesting to read others' thoughts, but one would probably get burned early on and become bitter.

Healing. The ability to heal others and myself. With that kind of power I could help people and constantly renew my own body to live extra long (and still have the option of dying 'naturally' if I decided that forever is too long). Just thinking of all that extra time to read books makes me happy. :D

That or TK. You could do cool shit AND fly with that.

I agree that teleporation is better overall, but sometimes you'd want people to see you performing crazy feats. That seems like half the fun of a superpower, being able to brag and show it off.

That's when you teleport into like the middle of a sports game, or onto the stage of a live TV show. Remember, no matter how fast you run, you can't just run through a wall or door...unless you also have super strength or something.
