Maybe Dr. Manhattan's powers. Though losing your humanity would probably suck.
So you might occasionally vaporize some kid that was in your way? Doesn't sound all that fun to me either. |

Goku has a bunch of superpowers so yeah that would be pretty awesome. In general though those superpowers don't sound nearly as appealing or useful as others listed in this thread, for me anyway.

Also another idea for awesome powers to add to my list: the human polaroid. Blink to take photos and print them out of your mouth. You may not be able to fight crime, but you'll be a bloody good eye witness. And for practical everyday use, just being able to speak any language. |

Yeah, the only reason to have that ability is for battle. Outside of fighting wars, shooting energy beams from your hands don't really help much with daily life or doing almost any kind of job. It's pretty much apart of a larger package. I was just curious to see if anybody still wanted this kind of power. As a kid, I thought it would be so badass to shoot a fireball from my hands ever since I played Street Fighter 2. But as i got older I started realizing how useless a power that would be in a non-wartorn world.

I'd be like the jumper.
Just go anywhere in the world and experience incredible views. Plus the occasional need to grab money from Banks without being noticed. But see I wouldn't grab like $1,000,000 and then be a wanted thief. Ohh no, I'd grab a few hundred here. Maybe another $300 there. Every month or so. Just keep it cool and not go over my head. Then again...what would I need money for if I can teleport anywhere? |

Immortality with a side of not aging and good health. Then I just wait for the interest to accrue.
Some of that Doctor Manhattan stuff would be great, too, but if you thought money changed people...Choosing to change your existence so fundamentally is kind of like opting to be a zombie: you'd probably be content enough, but you wouldn't be the same person at all. |

teleportation would be cool. needs some rules though.
- no teleportation into solid objects or places that the body cant handle (-> too deep under water). will automatically appear in the nearest logical place. - momentum is lost, if not intended differently. - if passing out, maybe when teleportating to highly autmatically teleporting to the nearest save place. otherwise: - telekinesis and mindtricks/illusions etc - element control. endless water, yeah. and shooting fire and stuff. |

I would hate to be able to read people's minds. Just imagining how many sick and disgusting thoughts I would encounter is frightening. It is the superpower equivalent of viewing people's dirty underwear. Some things should just be kept private.

I would also vote for magnetism but I feel the comics do a terrible job of showing what would be possible. You should be able to control any material through magnetism not just metals. No prison could hold you and you can kill anyone that tried to stop you. All atoms have small magnetic fields due to electrons orbiting the nucleus.

Only question is if you have the ability to make other stuff invisible as well, otherwise you'd have trouble stealing stuff (floating money bags) and you'd have to be naked all the time. |

What makes Magneto powerful isn't his power per se. Sure, he has the ability to do all that incredible stuff, but what really makes him into the supervillain he is, is the fact that he actually UNDERSTANDS his own power and tries his best to use it to it's full extent. He's smart enough to see the possibilities and also knowledgeable enough to shield himself from possible exploits (the helmet). Any other guy with the same power might not use it in the same way because they don't understand what it means, simply reducing it to moving metallic objects around.

Immortality and forever young with an out clause that can't be triggered by a lame "man, i wish i didnt exist." statement.
So immortality that i can choose to get rid of, but the choice has to be made 100% and over a long period of time in case i feel like i still want to be immortal before i die for realz.

With teleportation, I would have to be able to instantaneously teleport anywhere in the universe with the use of some kind of handheld device that allows me to pinpoint exactly where I'm going (with warnings to keep me from teleporting within objects). It'd probably work within some kind of controllable field to solve the problem of clothes and transporting foreign items. I just think teleportation would save me a shitload of time and money, not to mention how much I would be able to get done in terms of exploration. |

Super speed as long as I get the super-reflexes as part of the package deal. Preferably on Flash-level if possible. I just want to be able to perceive everything at such a rate as if everyone else is frozen. But also be able to go back to normal speed perception.

I could never understand telepathy as a linear power. no one thinks about one thing and it's not like the brain is like a file cabinet. It would be like trying to crack a safe in order to get one piece of information unless maybe you're talking one on one or that individual is helping you.

Maybe a better scenario is that a bored deity asks a whole bunch of people what power would they want knowing that he will grant that power to the person who asks for the weakest, most limited power that amuses him.

If I couldn't be like Superman, the 2nd greatest metahuman physiology I'd like to have would be Plastic Man
You can't fly, but you can slingshot+parachute to wherever you want to go You're indestructible You can be almost any size You can split into millions of sentient smaller pieces Never worry about losing your keys, you can make new ones on the spot Cool glasses bro |

Personal transformation into any living creature seems most useful.
Teleportation/speed equivalent - turn into a peregrine falcon and travel anywhere at 200 mph, turn into an ant to crawl into inaccessible areas Invisibility equivalent - turn into an insect, though that doesn't cover stealing things but it shouldn't be too hard to get creative Plus a plethora of other useful abilities. |

Telekinesis or teleportation are the the ones that first come to mind. I'm going to go with telekinesis though, I could see teleportation turning out horribly wrong.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, mind reading could be fun (you could make a lot of money this way) but being able to turn it on/off would be a must. The problem is I could see myself using it far too often, and become far too disenchanted/detached/depressed when you hear other people's ACTUAL thoughts. Mind control now...could be useful, could be really dangerous in the wrong hands :P. Much more likely to draw unnecessary attention/suspicion to yourself if you aren't careful.

Mind control. But only if it's undetectable, I don't have to be concentrating the whole time, can be turned off/on at will, and can hit anyone anywhere.
I would just have people give me money and do whatever I want them to. "Hey, that's a nice car, you should give it to me for free. That's a nice mansion for sale, you should sell it to me for $1." etc |

You know what, screw my previous post.
Even though it's cheap, my favorite superpower has always been power mimicry or absorption. You wouldn't be as good as the person you're copying as you don't just focus on one power, but you'll have a bag of tricks to use. |
