This is going to be the only fighting game I'll ever need.

Hey Oichi, here came across what appears to be a legit list of trophies you can add to the OT
http://exophase.com/game/virtua-figh...down/trophies/ Seems pretty damn easy. Just playing arcade mode once and online for an hour should net you most of these. Let you friends who like easy achievements and trophies know that they should pick up VF5FS! |

$15? Awesome
I'm not at all good and haven't played VF in years. Any chance of tiered competition so that I can play against similarly shitty players, at least at first? Or is there an AI competition mode and I just didn't notice? Either way I'll be spending a lot of time in training. |

Doesn't buy fighting games to actually play them

It's not locked away on the disc, it's an actual download, the base game is a fraction of the price of standard retail disc, and it's a properly balanced quality fighter full of content. Yeah totally the same thing.

So does the online only consist of lobbies? For all the fighting games I've played online, I've always much preferred ranked matchmaking than player lobbies since I don't have a group of friends that I like to play with (fighting GAF's skills are WAY too high for me) and I don't like waiting for other people to finish until my next fight starts.
It'll seriously bum me out if there isn't any matchmaking. |

Let's not kid ourselves. Sega's "locking" already completed content made during the development cycle behind a "pay wall" regardless of where it's stored initially. You gotta pay them more than just the cost of the game itself to use it. The DLC may be totally worth paying more in addition to the actual cost of the game. If it is to you, that's awesome. Buy and enjoy! but the same logic should apply to all cases.

It is the definition of win-win for fighting game fans and obsessive Virtua Fighter fans alike. |

Not even remotely the same. People were complaining about gems and characters as dlc, not costumes. Furthermore the game itself is 1/4 the price of a full priced retail game. Keep moving the goalposts.

I kinda missed the character discussions but my main is Sarah with my alternate being Kage. I also do a lot of Eileen and El Blaze when I want to switch it up.
As far as the DLC discussion goes I find it hard to call the situation the same for reasons that have already been stated in the thread. It's only costumes and the price for the game + DLC still costs less than a full priced game. |

It comes with its own downsides, too--you won't be able to see other peoples' dress-up items unless you've bought them for yourself. (They're trying to negotiate free compatibility pack downloads that'll allow everyone to see the items whether they've bought them or not, but who knows if it'll actually happen.) |

What if this wasn't a digital download, but was a $15 disc and all $30 of the DLC was on it? Would your feeling toward the game change? I'll just leave these questions here: Is this day-1 DLC already completed at the games launch? Yes Will Sega let you access this content without paying for it? No These two things are not refutable and are precisely the practices that many people (not necessarily you) are screaming about with other publishers. That's all I'm saying here.

At least the base package comes with the complete roster. SEGA has even said that download limits played in having to make them DLC. It's also completely optional content that isn't integral to the game unlike SFxT lopping off characters and gems. Characters will also have six outfits right off the bat instead of two colors and chances are the netcode and training mode will be leagues better as well. If you really can't see the difference in value I don't know what else to say. You're even more lost than you appeared.

DLC arguments are mad stupid son. Either buy it or don't buy it.
Training/Tutorial mode footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3fz-...ature=youtu.be It's actually pretty robust. Almost on the same level as VF4evo. |

They've not given an answer to this- I suspect the answer will be no due to loading times though. Also, after about 1000 matches you'll want to skip it and just play anyways.
