Title "The Next Prologue" (aka "Another Beginning" for western version) says everything. Out tomorrow in Japan and North America. Day after in Europe.

Lol ~ from the trailer doesn't seem that full of content. It's really going to be just a long (boring?) battle against Caius filled with cutscenes.
Curious to know that they refer to it as the "Next Prologue." XIII-3 confirmed already? |

Hopefully now that this is done & E3 isn't far behind, we can see what Square has next in mind for the Final Fantasy series... hopefully that means Versus. Knowing them though, at E3, they'll STILL probably show off THIS at E3 to claim that it's something new. |

In terms of content though it's looking like just the one long fight, which isn't enough to get me to play XIII-2 again (nor has any of the DLC been) but I might grab them all if I ever replay the game I want XIII-3 |

Could've sworn there were talks about there being a XIII-3. I could see it happening.

All their "DLC contents previews" detail the battles and moves of the incoming battles, but this last one is big 450MB, so there's definitely more to it. And with this I mean more cutscenes than shown here. The trailer didn't really spoiler much actually, just the battle in itself and not much story-wise. Which is better.

I think Square just took a page from Capcom's book in terms of "spoiling entire sequence with a single trailer."

That's what I'm saying, we all already know by the DATALOG what happens to Light, so the 40 seconds of cutscenes in this trailer don't spoiler much at all. What we don't know is WHY she ends up in crystal sleep and what's next, answers that the DLC is definitely going to solve at the end of it. |

The happenings at the end of XIII-2 are probably the most interesting part of the plot in either game, although that's not saying much.

I didn't buy a single piece of DLC which now probably costs over $60. Saving that money for day 1-ing F13-3 instead. |

It isn't, but I was surprised with the tone and the fact that the writers actually twisted up the story a bit. It was the first time during the story of either game where I was actually paying attention to it in a serious manner.

I know the ending was interesting, but I don't think it warrants another game to provide closure. This trailer didn't exactly scream "buy the DLC now!". Somehow, I've kind of lost interest in these characters, so an XIII-3 announcement would be a pretty disappointing thing for me.

well FFXIII's ending didn't exactly warrant XIII-2, in fact it shoehorned in a bunch of bullshit to justify it, but XIII-2 ended up being vastly superior if you ask me which was far more justification than any terrible story retconning.
