Rockstar Roasted Light Vanilla is by far my favorite. Mid-calorie so it doesn't totally fill you up, tastes delicious. I know you said you're sick of coffee, but give this a try because it will rock your world.

I've tried many of them and drink them often, but I always come back to Red Bull. Often imitated, never duplicated.

I'm also rather fond of Rockstar Energy Cola, The lo-carb, unflavored Monsters and Bawls.

Aspartame isn't a good trade-off, in my opinion. Skip them altogether or just accept the sunk cost of sugar and drink in moderation, I say.

The taste is inoffensive, not too sweet and not too bitter. The diet version actually tastes better than the full flavored version, which is disgustingly sugary. Outside of diet Rockstar, diet Monster is okay and Red Bull is good. Full throttle and AMP are disgusting. But when I have the choice, I always go with the diet Rockstar.

Nos original flavor, I find, gives me the best results. It varies from person to person, so experiment.

Certain types of NOS have crazy amounts of caffeine, which scares the shit out of me. My roommate (a personal trainer) also always tells me that stuff like tuarine and guarana behave exactly like caffiene and that drink manufacturers use these ingredients as a way of surpassing the "safe" amount of caffeine per serving.

Take care to monitor your intake of things with lots of caffeine in them. IIRC, they can lead to things like kidney stones.

Yup. I'm prone to kidney stones and everytime I buy an energy drink, i buy a big ol water too. Otherwise i can feel it sucking the water out of me.

Semtex which I bought in the Czech republic. Kinda strange they have an energy drink named after popular terrorist explosive. Especially given that it was invented in CZ.
