After the midnight openings around various places. Is it even worth going out around town trying to find one? What are the odds of me going into a store today and finding a CE on the shelf? Surely I can find just 1 somewhere? I'm positive Best Buy will be out. Gamestop told me last night they got just enough for preorder.

Anyone know if walmart did a midnight opening? Trying to think of places that didn't have one, and maybe can snag one if I show up early enough. Walmart cancelled my order, eBay users want more than $150(thanks scalpers!) Online sites pretty much sold out.

Anyone else on the hunt for a CE today?

I'm going to head over to the Best Buy near work (Princeton, NJ) at 9:30. I usually have luck getting CE's there - Lich King and Starcraft 2 were easy to get. I've already resigned myself to the fact that if I don't get a CE then I save $50, so no sweat if I don't get one. Check your local BB when they open this morning and you might have some luck.

I was able to walk into my local Best Buy and pick up the Burning Crusade and Lich King CE's on launch day. I'm going to try and do the same for Diablo 3. If I don't get it then I'll just stick with my free Annual Pass version.

I can still find Lich King on shelves. In fact, I've seen one heavily discounted at the Future Shop near me.

I was able to get a WoW CE on launch day during lunch at GameStop. I just saw it sitting behind the counter and asked if I could have it.

I might find it hard to resist if I run into the same scenario. I seriously doubt this will happen though.

I would try Target. 9am opening. I saw SC2 CE's in the clearance section a month after it came out.

The shelving in Walmart's PC sections can't even accomodate oversized packaging. Why would they order something they can't display?

Pretty sure there were quite a few stories last night of Walmarts only receiving like 2 CEs, Walmart.com, Buy.com and Target.com cancelling CE preorders and such. It looks like they may actually be limited this time. Still, best of luck to you though

While on a camping trip in canada I managed to grab a starcraft 2 CE in a walmart in the middle of nowhere (and months after release). So it's possible!
To the op, good luck. I went in line this morning to pick up an extra copy at futureshop. All CE and metallic boxes were sold out before the doors were even opened.

Wow, I didn't know Buy.com was cancelling orders of the CE as well. I bought my copy from them just a couple of weeks ago and they sent me the confirmation email that it was being sent out yesterday. I guess I was lucky to buy it when I did. This is the first CE I have bought where it may actually be truly limited.

It mostly depends on where you live.
I've yet to see a shortage of CEs for each game pass week 1.

The people you see panicking on forums probably get way less shipped CEs in their area, and think it's the same everywhere.

Just go to Best Buy, but you'll always be able to find them a few months after for about 40-50$ less anyways. Did the same with BC(Picked up a bunch actually to resell when they were clearance out for 30$), WOTLK, and Starcraft II

Not in my backwater town. I called Target, Walmart, just now Bestbuy. I get the same response. We aren't selling the CE just the regular edition. Maybe I'm being lied to, whos to say.

Just got back from Best Buy in Hartsdale, NY. I got there 5 minutes before it opened and I was able to pick up a Collector's Edition off the shelf. There were 4 people behind me that got one as well. Not sure if they have any left, though.

No love for me; all of the CE's at my usual Best Buy were for pre-orders only which is odd since I've been able to get a walk-in CE for every Blizzard game there. Like I said before though, no sweat. ;-)

I wonder how reliable best buys online inventory checker is? If its accurate there's two in my area with it and I might go get one. I remember never having a problem there picking up CEs

The other thing is that ebay prices will come down due to people getting extras and trying to scalp today. If you can wait a week you can prolly snag one for 110 or less if you don't find one in stores today. this happend with BC and WOTLK

I've called all stores, I have yet to try gamestops, but they aren't open yet. I'm almost positive they got just preorders in, but I'll try anyway.

Although I can't make any guarantees, I am nearly 100% confident you will find a D3 CE in Best Buy if you go today.

My nearby Fry's always has tons of CEs in-stock. I was able to grab a WotLK and StarCraft II CE a month after they launched. So I'll probably swing by there sometime to pick up a D3 CE.

Found a bunch at my local Fred Meyer store. They were all sold. I went to another store next town over and that one always have a tons of CE and sure enough there was 3 or 4 left there, so I pick up 2nd one for my in-law.

Anyway, yeah you should try Fry's they always have CE left.

yeah something like walmart or stores in less populated areas might have a copy left. or you could wait until it drops to $40 like the cata CE i noticed the other day at retail.

I've tried 2 Best Buys, 2 WalMarts, and a Gamestop all in the North Dallas area, no luck. I'm going to try Frys next, but if that is a no go then I might be S.O.L.
