Sigh, my UPS tracking info says the package was delivered an hour ago at my front door but it's not here. I've been watching outside like a hawk and there was never a truck an hour ago. I think this happened one time before and it was like he just marked it off as delivered and then I got it like 7 hours later at 8pm. I'm feeling anxious and giddy.

Just beat Act 1 and it was pretty amazing. The presentation and flow of the quests is really top notch. The dungeons are really awesome, too, and the boss fights are a bit more interesting than just clicking. Not a breaking new ground, really, but it's a nice change from D2. Act 2's town looks amazing!

I still really miss skill and stat allocation, but the game's still addicting.

I love this game, but its really bad juju to have such a rocky launch with a required multiplayer component. Blizzard is at the tippy top, we're paying hard earned bucks, they're going to make even more off the in game market. Over prepare blizzard, don't wait for shit to take a shit, then fix shit. I know its been said before, just my 2 cents though.

For windows 7, go to control panel -> network and internet -> internet options -> connections -> LAN settings -> uncheck automatically detect settings.

My speed went from 75KB/s to 2MB/S within 5 seconds of clicking ok after changing the settings.

Maybe this isn't that common of a problem, but this is pretty important for those of us affected!

To the best of my knowledge that's actually standard operating procedure for MMOs, but I could be wrong. I know its at least been that way with Blizzards stuff since WoW launched.
The WoW stuff is so granular in fact that each continent has its own server and then everything that would be considered instance is on a separate server. I think Arena stuff also have their own servers as well, but I maybe wrong about that.

For a company like Blizzard I'd say it is a minor letdown. You would figure they would have the knowledge and servers to make sure something like this didn't happen after years of dealing with similar issues in WoW. Of course with WoW it has been getting better and better since Vanilla.

Yea it is. Wrath of the Lich King launch night was pretty smooth, so was Cataclysm. Burning Crusade was terrible but they were just learning then. I'm guessing Starcraft 2 was smooth.

I think it was easily more than half an hour, probably something like 45 minutes, at least as far as I can see from the messages I sent while installing. Then again I was using a laptop with a not-so-fast drive.

It's just on your bar after a certain part of the game. It gets pointed out to you so don't worry about missing it.

You get a town portal spell pretty early on that you can use whenever you want with no CD or anything. It was surprisingly generous of Blizzard.

Whenever I edit something here, save the file in read-only mode and start up the client, the client reverts to default settings. I suppose this could be a problem only for me, from what I read on Blizzard's forums other people don't seem to have any problems with this.

In 800x600 32 bit, I get an FPS of between 19-34 (19 in most areas). I have only an integrated ATI Radeon HD 3000 Graphics chip installed and I really can't afford a new motherboard (I have another video card, but it's not compatible with my current motherboard), so whatever can be done to improve FPS I do, I don't care how the game looks. Anyone has any tips?

As for the game, I think it's great so far. With barbarian, The Skeleton King fight was nice, although rather easy. Rupture for Cleave was good to use, just had to jab away at those skeletons mostly and watch the boss take damage.

Oh, and CarbonatedFalcon, you might wanna mention the configuration file in the starting post, I assume it could become quite useful (until a full API is disclosed).

Wings, no, but there's dyes besides the CE ones. I think the ones in the CE are unique to the CE, however.

Loving it. The difficulty seemed to ramp up as I got to Act II (which was welcome as I felt a little too powerfull Act I.)
