Aside from her outfit not being completely zipped up in the front, her outfit wasn't really too bad in terms of not showing skin at least. Though some may argue the fact that it was pretty much skin-tight is a different issue, of course.
I don't remember if she had them on at the start, she picked them up at the very end though. She was supposed to be undercover, so I'm guessing she was dressed up for some social event prior to her "capture." |

![]() Although, that's also due to the ridiculous sexualization of women in comic books, but that's another story... Also, I don't think her outfit was THAT skin tight. Sure it was form fitting, but it could have been a lot worse(better?) |

And she's right, most female superheroes are ridiculously oversexualized to the point the most enjoyable ones are the non-serious ones like She-Hulk. Black Widow was surprisingly decent in Avengers. And no people, her ass isn't sticking out as much as you seem to think, it's just that she has a really nice ass. In the movie, not that poster above of course. |

she rocked in the avengers and wasn't overly sexualized at all. she was fully clothed the whole time, kicked ass and was one of the most clever characters in her interrogation scenes. super hero stuff is supposed to be sexy both ways - no one wants to see out of shape terrible looking people for 2 and a nalf hours. but it was refreshing to see her really get some solid screen time doing cool things and not just landing all splay legged and whatnot.

I think she makes a decent point. There are still plenty of hurdles that need to be overcome, but The Avengers does better than most.
I don't mean to equivocate, but re-watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies has reminded me that all of them contain copipus amounts of female-targeted fanservice. |

You should have linked to the full interview from EW. It's a great, although short discussion with the cast.

I love her intentionally overacted "you monster." On a second viewing it's one of the funniest little gags.

The Avengers was pretty tame in this regard, but it wasn't completely absent. Scarlett's very first scene was her tied up to a chair in a low cut cocktail dress and headbutting the dude as the camera focuses on her tits and cleavage.
