Hoping my Best Buy preorder comes in on Thursday. Are they actually opening the boxes and checking each phone at customs? I don't understand how this works.

You know, the infringers could actually pay a license fee in order to use the patented process. The way it was meant to be used. Or innovate or improve on the process, which would allow them to patent their own version of the process. Or work around it. There are many ways to not violate patents, and the entire system of protecting innovative inventions doesn't have to be thrown out like some of you are suggesting.

You do realize that it's basically impossible do no anything with a computer without unknowingly infringing on someone else patent? That's the only reason why all big companies are buying patent portfolios, because there is *always* one somewhere that a competitor is infringing in one way or another, and they can use them as a trump card in case they are attacked (or worse, use them to attack first).
Patents can be a great thing, and have been for the most part in the "hardware" industry. But when it comes to software, only actual experts, and even then, can decide if something is trivial or an actual innovation. There are so many submissions that it's impossible to do the proper prior art and technical analysis, so now they let courts decide if the patent is valid or not, which is a fucked up way to do business since small companies can't pay for the lawyers and stuff involved.

Just got it not too long ago; so its definitely available if you preordered it. They only had 4 of them though.

As far as the phone goes, its really nice. Shit is huge though, but It's all good.

It's such enraging bullshit that such functionality can even be patented. I'd have thought the above feature set would be an obvious point of advancement in UI, not something that should be exclusive to any one company. Anyway, SO glad I'm switching to Android soon. Fuck Apple and their shitty ideals and and anti-competition crap.

I don't know if it's too different from the EU model but mine (here in the UK) has no SD slot.

Doesn't bother me as I never filled the 8gb on my last phone.

Yeah, from what I've read it has a micro sd slot, but I don't know where the hell it is. I looked in the manual and didn't see it in there either, but I'm finding forums on the net with people talking about what cards they have and whatnot. I'm so lost lol

It is under the top plastic cover on the backside. There is a little notch behind the power button to pry the plastic off. The microSD slot is in that same spot after the plastic cover is off. Just slide it in.

It is a fantastic device. I love the screen. Plus, the battery life is looking pretty good. Plus, there is already a simple method to root it.
