My name comes from the evil/misunderstood rapist supercomputer antagonist of the 1977 horror movie Demon Seed who in turn gets his name from Greek mythology. It just seemed like a nice intimidating name for online videogames and the idea of a brilliant supercomputer like him playing such games amused me.
If you can handle slow paced highly disturbing and tense horror and like retro sci-fi I would highly recommend checking this movie out. It dosen't get the attention it deserves these days. Though maybe I should just be happy about that since it means my handle of choice is always open. (Fun fact: My avatar here on neogaf is also a grab from a fairly trippy part of said film) |

Everything I've ever used has just been the first random thing that popped into my head at the time of signing up for something.
The ones I've used the most have been my main MMO character names. This one is just because I watched a bunch of Kids in the Hall before signing up. |

Mine is just some stupid shit I came up with when I was 13. I made my high school band name "Natural High" and ever since then, I have stuck with it.
Edit: Here is the graphic I made for the band. I couldn't get the full size from work, just had to google and save it (thus why it is cut off at bottom) ![]() Hawt.

Mine's a combination of my initials + y + room number of my freshman dorm. Created it 15 years ago, stuck with it b/c the real world has crushed my creative spirit....

I hate my tag, but I use it everywhere at this point and don't want to bother with having more than one. Basically when I first started going on forums, one of my favorite wrestlers at the time was named Raven. So I started using that name because I thought it was cool. Then at some point a friend of mine started up this site called XenoGamer that was SUPPOSED to become a cool game news/reviews/media site. What it ended up being was a site that had a cool music player that streamed popular RPG music, a collection of the highest resolution official art images from various RPGs we could find, and a forum that never really got off the ground. Since my friends all put "Xeno" in front of their name, I did it too. So now whenever "Raven" is taken, I just put "XenoRaven" instead. I am fully aware of how silly it is.

My commonly used gamer tag came from Initial D: Arcade Stage. The best player of the game used the tag "Extra" and I wanted something that sounded similar so I went with "Excel." Of course, that was usually taken on other services, so I went with something along the lines of "ExcelBeyond" because I thought it sounded cool.

When I first got on Internet, I used Bender or Bender Rodriguez because I thought he was the coolest character in the world at the time.
Then I took Akihabara which is a Tokyo district. Never went to Tokyo but I read the wikipedia page: - it means "Field of Autumn Leaves", I found that cool. - it's also known as "Akihabara Electric Town", I found that cool too. - "Akihabara is a major shopping area for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods, including new and used items." That's perfect for a gaming tag. - It sound cool. So I took it. But now I use Akibastman (which is a "Portmanteau" of Akihabara, my name and Batman, which is a cool dude) because it's more unique. But I'm too lazy to ask a mod to change it. If you're a mod and you read that, you can change it without asking. |

I used to write for 3DAP many many moons ago under the alias of Dr Foxy. I had one of my articles plagiarized blatantly and terribly by a writer on a different site. Shortly afterwards I stopped writing for 3DAP (and shortly after that, they killed all original content). I stepped away from gaming for a while to focus on writing a novel, so when I came back I didn't want to go by my old handle.
A lot of people I used to know were still very active in the communities I wanted to sneak back into, and knowing that my skills had nose dived substantially I picked a new name. plagiarize. it's advice see, because what i do is worth copying. anyway, a big part of the reason it stuck is because no one seems to be able to spell it correctly, so i almost always get to register it as a single name for any services/forum/email thing. sometimes i have to flip to the english spelling, but that's fine by me, because that's where i was born and raised. |

Zlatko is my first name in the real world.
My GT is Outlaw Slevin, and my PSN is OutlawOcelot. The Outlaw part is always inspired from Outlaw Star. Great animuuuu. Slevin came from Lucky # Sle7en, but I didn't want to spell it that way, and Sleven was taken believe it or not. :/ Ocelot is obvious. Metal Gear Solid series. Love it. Buy consoles just to play new MGS games. |

I have no fantasy in names, i used this tag since i subscribed to some forums ten or more years ago and since Tommy is always taken i added some signs to it in order to find an unused nickname. I stuck to it as it is now easy to remember for me and i'm damn sure it's always available wherever i subscribe.
