Ah ok, the bigger screenshots look much better. There's no doubt that UE4 will be a very good engine next gen. I had my reservations on UE3 early on, but it has produced some really nice looking multiplat games across the board.
Batman, 50 cent and UT3 are all nice looking games. |

I recall the screenshots being a lot more impressive for their time than this seems today. Guess I have to see it in motion. |

Same here, want to see it on motion though. Still, if this is the top-tier target for next generation visuals I think I had my expectations a bit too high. I hope at the very least they're targeting this at 1080p native.

We're probably not going to see a leap like the one we saw from the six to the seventh generation in a long, long time.

Back on topic these screens look great and I'm sure that in motion it's gonna look incredible. Now imagine a next gen Souls game with this level of detail... :O |

From the article:

Without a white paper on the engine it's rather difficult to put this imagery in perspective. I assume more is going to be shown at E3. |

"It also helps him show that changes can be made to the game’s design and code, recompiled and executed nearly instantly—a technical feat that has been simply unheard-of in game development. And just like that, the silence in the room becomes reverent. The videogame industry has changed."
"That's huge." Sounds pretty similar to what Unity's already doing, that said, It's one of the features I love most about it. |

Nope, I am not seeing Mark Reign's claim of this making Samaritan demo look like "crap". Usual PR bullshit. Still, I guess, things may look up in motion.
However, this one of the more important betterments that is most welcome (I guess I'll find more as I read the whole article):

Both exactly what I expected and even not close to matching my expectations.
Very odd feeling. However, as others say, video may make it look better. That being said, it feels like a lot of energy used to get things to look only slightly better HOWEVER, if it streamlines the production process, then I'm all for it. |

Looks about what I expected from Wii U, to be honest.
Nice volumetric clouds. |

So when are we getting the UDK release?
Well no shit, no one has render farms in their house.
