That might actually be unhealthy for your liver, with some constant drinking your liver is able to become more accustomed with getting hit with the poison, it's kind of like running, you don't save your legs to run a marathon, you have to harden them through months of training before you binge your legs and muscles.

This thread is torture. I want to drink tonight but I've committed to no drinking for about 6 months. I plan on getting really dedicated to lifting weights and drinking doesn't doesn't mix with fitness. Even if it's just one day a week. Alcohol brings protein synthesis to a grinding halt.
This is going to be one boring Saturday night with no alcohol. :( |

But seriously, Friday and or Saturday during semester, Wednesday Friday Saturday+ during holidays. Special occasions often end in a three or four day bender, although I've been keeping a lid on it recently for cost/girlfriend reasons. I'm going on a trip to Europe in a month so it will probably escalate again. I just need a decent night's sleep too much to be as big of a piss head as some of my friends.

Hardly ever. Once a month, maybe? I used to drink too much at parties when I was younger, but I feel I've come to a point where I know my limits. Wouldn't mind going out for a drink more often, but as it stands now it's not an alternative.

I drink about once every two or three months. I don't really see the point in it, honestly. I'd rather spend my money on other things.
Once or twice a month. I've never bought it, though. I've just got friends who are willing to share, heh. |

I'll say about once every 1-2 months; typically on social occasions. The last time I got drunk was at the February NYC GAF Meet up; that was 3 months ago. However, I rarely like to drink to get drunk (maybe 3-4 times a year).
I typically decide on the amount of drinks that I'm going to have before I go out or if I go out go out without a drinking plan, I drink a minimum of 1-2 beers. I do enjoy the occasional beer with food (especially pizza) if there's beer in the fridge. |

Never, after having found out that I'm allergic to the yeast in alcohol. My situation is terrible what the fuck, yeah? I must sit through others passing judgment when it comes to matters like this, further deepening my neurosis. I might as well ask the bartender for a coke and claim it is mixed with Finlandia or Polar-Ice.
On the brighter side, I have more money for video-games. lol |

Here's an example. I'm new in my neighborhood. Yesterday a guy came over with two dogfish heads to chat as I cleaned off my grill. How lame would I be to say, "oh ho ho! All beers are gross!" |

What bothers me is his motto though, especially when most (not all) people start drinking because they feel the need to fit in. (in other words, they feel insecure)

I always though beer tasted great, ever since I had a sip of my parent's ones when I was a kid. I never met someone who drinks to "fit-in", they do it because they enjoy it. Nothing to do with "being cool" and other misconception anti/non-drinkers seem to have.

Not very often, only if I am with other people for some special occasion, I prefer drinking milk and eating my vitamins (milk part is true). :P
I just have never seen the lure of alcohol, most do not taste good to me whereas my friends keep telling me there is this 'taste' that you have to acquire to. My theory has always been that the marketing of alcohol has made people like its 'taste' because they want the often mature, hip, and sexualized associations that comes with alcohol. I must say that I do not like any alcohol unless it is sweet like Baileys (wut a pussy). That being said, if I am drinking something I do not like then I better get hammered because I do not see the point in drinking otherwise. ;P |

Don't like drinking alcohol at all. Tried drinking a beer a few weeks ago with a cousin of mine, it was bitter as fuck and tasted terrible, I even forced myself to finish the small bottle to see if I could get drunk just off of that or if the terrible taste would somehow change for the better. It didn't. He bought more than one kind so I tried a few of the others they all tasted pretty much the same, like ass, except that one had a more toasted flavor not that it helped any.
I also tried wine yesterday, it was pretty eh, I didn't really hate it but it didn't exactly taste good. Only the aftertaste was ok but that was about it. Don't care for champagne either, too bitter. Oh I tried whiskey and energetic once it didn't taste good either. I wasn't raised drinking alcohol, my parents drink very sparingly and my sister is the one who drinks more in my immediate family but even then she only does it sometimes as a social thing and has never gotten drunk. Considering that I have more than a few relatives who ruined their lives thanks to becoming alcoholics and the fact that if I do go out with friends I'm always going to be driving and I hate drunk drivers, I don't want either thing to end up happening to me. |

This year I've only drunk heavily maybe once every 2 weeks (British student here so that makes me practically teetotal in my social group). After exams next week though I have 5 completely free weeks before the end of term so I should be able to bring that average down considerably.
