It looked great graphically but it's not what I want from a farcry game so I'm going to choose to believe it's near the beginning. I'm pretty over scripted linear shit that's only good for 1 playthrough.
Also I hope far cry 2's fire returns. I want to be able to light entire fields up again just by throwing a grenade. |

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/Feature/...hooters.aspx/1 I asked an Ubisoft ComDev on their forums "If Ubisoft will be blowing our hair back at E3". They simply replied "Short answer: YES."

this, it doesn't work the way it does in Uncharted. This gameplay clip seems to give off a serious vibe so when he does a comedic quip it doesn't connect right. Uncharted has always had a semi serious/semi comedic tone to it.
I also have a real pet peeve when names are mentioned in dialogue for no reason. "Lisa, you drive!". Nobody would say that in real life because there's only 1 other person there. In real life he would just say "you drive!" if there was someone other than Lisa there then it makes sense but ugh. I just don't understand. |

Looks awesome. I've always been in the camp that loved FC2. I remember buying it day 1 on PC then getting the 360 version a couple years later and replaying it all over again on my big ass TV. It's not STALKER, but it was an adequate open world action game.
I just wish it had a better stealth and sniping implementation. Nothing ruined cresting over a hill to pick off dudes in a base like having those guys zone in right on you as soon as you fired a shot, and stealth had the same issues- it was like the AI wasn't designed around the player being stealthy. All they have to do is fix those two things, and Far Cry 3 will be amazing (maybe fix the whole GUERRILLAS IN JEEPS ALL DAY EVERY DAY MOTHERFUCKER thing too). Would be cool if they threw in customization for weapons and PLEASE for the love of god include weapon fire modes. I hated not being able to select burst or single shot in FC2. |

That was boring. I've never been in a burning, collapsing building, but I imagine I would feel threatened at least once or twice. That was like a harmless stroll through a crappy haunted house.
edit: And the fire didn't even spread. What happened to the awesome fire tech, one of the highlights of FC2? |

Technically they did when the game debuted at E3. That brief demo with the enemy settlement, you could tackle that any way you wanted. But yes we need more of that instead of linear shit. Now I feel like I don't even have to play that mission during the game because I saw it all already.

Looks really good, but no animations with his hands, and the slow-moving gameplay, really made the stressed, panicked voiceacting seem.... weird. Like there was some kind of detachement, and they didn't belong together. |

I can't really stand Uncharted, so I'm relieved Far Cry 3 is nothing like it - Well, except some visual similarities with that shit gimmicky burning house sequence right there (hopefully not much more of that, and hopefully not a lot of useless QT stuff). Everything else I've seen and heard about this game seems promising.
