In hindsight, the series should probably have stopped at Episode 5.
But since it didn't... there's only two areas of contention for me. It's hard to choose between 4 and 5. And it's hard to choose between 6 and 3. The rest of the order is obvious. Edit - I guess it's hard to chose between 2 and 1 also...

I'd go with:
4 6 5 1 3 2 It should be noted that I don't care all too much for this franchise. I don't tend to like sequels too much, so a trilogy was already pushing it for me. Seeing them slap on another trilogy, especially of calibre we got, was enough to run the property into the ground. |

6. This one is the best because it has the best lightsaber fight, it has the Emperor being badass, the best music, and the last 30 minutes or so is just perfect.
5. Close second. 4. Close third. 3. Huge drop from 4 to 3. It's only here because the last two are complete shit while this is only like 80% shit. 1. Darth Maul is cool looking. And John Williams did a good job. 2. There is nothing good about this movie. |

1st- 4: ANH
2nd- 5: ESB 3rd- 6: RotJ 4th- 3: RotS 5th- 1: TPM 6th- 2: AotC I go back and forth on which is the best between the original and ESB. I voted for ANH because ESB is likely to get the most votes in this poll. In any case those two movies are clearly on an entirely separate tier from the rest of the series. RotJ is on a higher tier than the prequels, but it's clearly inferior to its predecessors.

why the hate for episode 2?? It Had hardly any Jar Jar and would of been a much better film to start the prequels off too
the love scene bit did not go on for as long as the crappy jake lyod parts in 1 The only good part of 1 was the darth maul fights 2 did go a little overboard with the crappy CGI creatures but it was actually a good base story for 3 and without it we would not of had the cool clone wars cartoons my order 4 5 6 3 2 1

2- Episode V 3 - Episode VI 4 - Episode 2 5 - Episode 3 6 - Episode 1 Are you mainly just expecting some variety on the prequels? Surely its a lock that IV or V will get the top spot? I mainly like V for the attack on Hoth. I don't think you can rate it as the best SW movie because it can't stand alone. It relies on IV setting you up with the characters, otherwise it'd be bogged down by backstory; The Big Reveal only works because of the setup of IV; the ending only gets away with being so down because there is RotJ coming up. don't get the RotJ hate. Yes its a little more kid friendly than the first two, but its still a great adventure movie. I think AotC is my least hated prequel movie as it has the beauty shot of the proto Star Destroyers taking off right at the end. Only redeeming feature of the entire prequel trilogy is seeing the Empire's ships and troops being intially provided for the Jedi. Thats cool
