What's Treasure up to these days?
#1
Bangai-O Spirits (AWESOME) was in 2008, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (Waiting to be played, very likely to be AWESOME) was in 2009 and after that it's been just XBLA and nothing else. What's going on? Everything alright over there? I'm kinda worried...
Anyone? sprsk maybe? |

Maybe this generation's taking a toll on them too. :/
Though the 32-bit days seemed to be their peak anyway for raw output, they slid some with the following generation, and seem MIA now outside of porting said 32-bit titles. Would be nice to see Silhoutte Mirage with its original difficulty on that note. |

They are like 20-30 people. It takes time.

They said they might work on a third RS if it sells well on XBLA, no ?

I just checked up on my other favorite developer Sandlot and apparently they ported EDF2 onto the PSP! But just like Zangeki no Reginleiv we'll probably never see those being released outside of J-land.
So sad to see two of my favorite developers doing ports and nothing else.

They announced EDF4 was in development in 2010, so maybe we'll see something at TGS this year

If a Japanese studio goes silent for a longer period of time, it often means they develop something for Nintendo. Considering Nintendo's limited development resources and the upcoming platform launch, I guess they contracted quite a few studios, especially studios they've worked with in the past - like Treasure (and Sandlot, Arika, Ganbarion, GoodFeel...).

Yeah, wish that issue could be cleared up, I'm not sure who has the rights but I think Nintendo and Treasure would be up for it. Don't know about Square Enix. I think it was one of their better selling games as well.

Mischief Makers was so awesome. That game could have only been done by Treasure.

I don't think they're anywhere near big enough to handle a full scale Wii U game, though, so it's probably something for Wii U eShop or 3DS. |

I'm so happy we got the SHMUPs on XBLA I almost don't care.
And S & P was sooooooooo good. Is there a future for devs like Treasure besides their old stuff? Is the future on PC? Downloadable? They are way too small for any console games in the next gen, unless someone is doing all the assets for them and whatever... |
