NeoGaf Film Club #1

I've been thinking of starting a film club here on GAF. Each week we pick a classic film and watch/discuss it for the week.

I did something like this about 2 years ago, and it did start off well but fizzled out after about 6 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in taking part.

I was thinking "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" a great film, that's easy for most people to get access to.

I've seen it but I'm down. Anything works as long as Lawrence of Arabia is included at some point.

It would be cool if GAF had a poll system so we could easily vote on what to watch

So Godfather, Citizen Kane, Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, stuff like that? I say we start with the true classics.

Sounds fun. There are a lot of wonderful movies that I haven't seen yet. Ideally, we could agree on a service (like Netflix) to all subscribe to in order to ensure easy access for the films that are selected.

Nothing, really, and your lack of access to the CC really hurts in that regard. I watched Chinatown recently, though, so Roman Polanski's the next big thing for me.

okay guys, since we are going to watch and discuss a classic film, and some people think that Jesse James is still too recent, I have decided to start with this classic film:

Will have an OT thread for the club up in the next hour or so. Is everyone okay with this film choice?
