Reminds me of the Ben-Hur packaging. Also reminds me I need to buy that. Also, sold.

The blur on the gun looks so bad, they should have picked a different shot or placed it out of the visible range.

I really like the classy presentation they give to older movies in blu-rays like the Criterion stuff.

I wish they'd do that for kung fu movies.

It's funny that it's for a BD, yet all the stills on the page are compressed to hell. :D

T.E. Lawrence: I killed two people. One was... yesterday? He was just a boy and I led him into quicksand. The other was... well, before Aqaba. I had to execute him with my pistol, and there was something about it that I didn't like.
General Allenby: That's to be expected.
T.E. Lawrence: No, something else.
General Allenby: Well, then let it be a lesson.
T.E. Lawrence: No... something else.
General Allenby: What then?
T.E. Lawrence: I enjoyed it.

General Allenby: I believe your name will be a household word when you'll have to go to the War Museum to find who Allenby was. You're the most extraordinary man I've ever met!
T.E. Lawrence: Leave me alone!
General Allenby: What?
T.E. Lawrence: Leave me alone!
General Allenby: Well, that's a feeble thing to say.
T.E. Lawrence: I know I'm not ordinary.
General Allenby: That's not what I'm saying...
T.E. Lawrence: All right! I'm extraordinary! What of it?
He was indeed.

One of the greats, if not the greatest film of all time with an iconic score and a wonderful performance by the great Peter O'Toole. Oh yes, you should be excited and the cinematography is a sight to behold.

Indeed. I've heard so much about it that I'm really, really, excited. I'm going to have to find some space to put it, though. Been holding off on getting the Ben-Hur box for this reason.

I may get this day one.

Can one enjoy this film today for the first time?

I've been interested in seeing this, but always put it off because it's an ye olde movie that i've imagined is only great if you watched it back in the day or are a film critic.

I've only ever watched it twice, on DVD and catching the last half of it when it was on HDTV.

Looking forward to snatching this bad boy up finally.

That was the best packaging, but I sold it when the Superbit version came out with the new, corrected master.

Cannot wait for the Blu though. I hope there is a theatrical run.

What are you crazy? This movie is timeless. First time I watched it was a hideous pan and scan version on regular broadcast television. It still immediately became one of my favorites. I can't recommend it enough.

This and Casablanca are my favorite movies of all time. I assume 2 of the discs in the picture will be the movie, and 1 disc will be special features. Is there any word if they're just going to recycle the special features from the old DVD set, or will there be new content?

Seems the movie will come on a single disc, which is a mistake for a nearly four hour flick...

Quote:
- BD disc 1: the movie
- BD Disc 2: More than 1 hour Making of + Interview unprecedented Peter O'Toole
- Photo book with storage for an exclusive third disc: a DVD composed entirely of exclusive footage (128 min)
- Map travel to Lawrence on parchment paper
- Book of original posters
