8-bit Radiohead Albums. Full Length. Not So Dumb. #1

I normally hate shit like this, but I think these ones work particularly well.

OK Computer

KID A

You can post other full album 8-bit interpretations here, but they won't be as good. These albums both seem to lend to the translation, in addition to the guy who adapted them doing a pretty good job and choosing pretty clever tones.

I think my favorite right now is Airbag

Good music works if it is studio production, acoustic or chip tunes.

Sure, but to me, chip tunes usually feel like a cloying tribute to nerds rather than something that comes from a place of understanding for the music. These manage to capture the tones and moods of the work without turning everything into a goofy farce.
I could jam this with no irony... maybe. Ask me tomorrow.

As time goes on, I'm coming around to your side.
Seeing them live this year, I found myself most excited for the IR stuff.

I don't know, but I skipped around to listen to my fav track from the album, and I love chiptunes too..and It sounded wayyy off in some part, as if little to no care was paid attention to while doing this. It's not melodic at all, the waves are irritating; and .. I know its a fan project, but it sounds dreadful :(

It does, but it also has Hunting Bears, Like Spinning Plates and Life in a Glasshouse, which are all basically perfect.

I've shed manly tears listening to Amnesiac.

I feel like OK Computer works better. No Surprises sounds fun, like it's the the title/intro music from a classic console game.

I can't really decide between In Rainbows and Amnesiac. Why would I have to.

Love this. Haven't finished listening yet, though (on Let Down, which, surprisingly, doesn't seem to work as well as it should. Not bad, just was expecting more given the source material).

Also, OK Computer is the best Radiohead album.

I don't know, but the version from I Might Be Wrong is pretty incredible.

The SNL performance was something special, though, because it actually had the brass section.

I still don't get this 8-bit sound. It's cool when used sparingly in a full band, but listening to traditional albums done up in 8-bit I'll never understand.

I'm actually enjoying these, and I can't say that I'm a big fan of 8-bit generally.

How come there are so many full albums on Youtube now anyway?

But thanks, will listen through these - something strangely relaxing and nostalgic about them.

Have you heard this reinterpretation of Nude played by a programmed array of obsolete hardware? Sometimes degraded versions of music are spectacular. It's worth checking out. You don't have to be a chiptune-loving geek to appreciate it.

PS: What we need are some DRM Free .mp3s of this that are free to download without having to create YT rips.

OC used to be my favourite album, until IR showed up. Opinions.

An 8-bit ver. of In Rainbows, particularly Jigsaw Falling Into Place, would be an interesting listen.
