My theatre has a no refunds policy on booked tickets. But if you go down there and speak one human being to another and just ask if they have free seats in the earlier session, hopefully they'll realise it makes zero difference to them which session you see and they'll do a swap for you.

man i liked star trek the first time i saw it but upon repeat viewings the characters just started to annoy me, particularly spock. i can't stand him in that movie. his scenes with zoe saldana are terrible too.
"what do you need from me" .. "i need you ... to do your duty." ugh .. that is not the spock that i know and i hated the characterization. the guy who plays capt. kirk has pretty good charisma but he also comes across as too much of a petulant kid. and no matter how many times i watch the movie i will never get the plot. ever. |

The young characters in Star Trek 2009 become the craggy super-serious wrinkle faces in Star Trek: TOS. The movie is them in their adolescence, I don't understand the complaints that they're not like their original counterparts. They have plenty of time to grow into those roles. Except Simon Pegg, he was woefully miscast.

The BBFC has posted their extended classification information for Prometheus here. Its not too spoilery -certain acts of violence are described, but most of these are shown partially in the trailers, and none are specific as to whom the action is directed at- but obviously you may not want to know.
Reading it, it sounds like a relatively soft "R", there's apparently only a single use of strong language (traditional sop for PG-13) for example, but as the board's commentary repeatedly mentions elements that are simply too graphic for a 12A, it doesn't seem like its especially tame on the violence front. Hard to tell really because the UK's 15 rating is pretty broad, you can get away with some pretty extreme gore provided its not specifically sadistic, sexualized (a huge no-no), or imitatable. |

What's the one in The Odyssey like compared to the Odeon? Was there a long time ago I think but can't remember anything about it. Better or worse?

Last time I was there was years and years ago but I don't remember any big complaints. The only reason I would be out there is for the nightclubs, Its just so out of the way. I hate the amount of ads in Victoria Square though & the price. Might have to be a cheapskate and go to the Movie house!

Prometheus finally got rated here in Singapore. It's NC16 here, which indicates to me that it's a soft-R in the US, but probably not completely soft. If there is more graphic violence it would probably be M18, so I think it probably has significantly violent scenes but not a lot of them.
For reference, Alien is rated PG, Aliens is rated M18, Alien 3 is rated NC16, and Alien Resurrection is rated M18. Yes, Alien is rated PG. Don't look at me. |

What the fuck.
Anyway I showed the trailer to a friend I was planning on going with and it looks like I need to find someone else.. said it was too weird and scary for her, from the trailer. :lol I wonder how much an element of horror this'll end up having in contrast to Alien. |

Got my midnight showing tickets all ready to go for myself and the Mrs. Trying to recruit some friends to go along with me.
Seeing this baby in an IMAX theater with that glorious sound and screen could easily be my favorite movie going experience of this year...which is awesome to say considering we've already been treated to The Avengers. Prometheus...TDKR...Skyfall... Shieeeeet |
