The german version censored (no gore) so I asked my friend from austria to gift the game to me. But he cant gift me the game because steam says I already have it (because of the free weekend).
Is there a way around this ?? After the weekend the game will be at normal price again :( |

Been playing for a bit more. Really liking the classic mode, it feels more like RO1 but still retains the smoother feel (for me). Now all we need are troop transports and maps that accommodate for that.
Not good.

I'm going to reinstall this and give it a shot. I find it ironic though, that this comes out in an hour: http://simhq.com/_land3/land_127a.html I think Tripwire is feeling the heat again, much like they rushed this out in front of CoD and BF3. |

It's my favourite FPS from last year, despite it's issues. Had more fun and put more time into it than BF3.

Use the Steam server browser to work around possible crashes (and convenience): View > Servers > Filter RO2

Have you tried verifying the integrity of the game cache? Also delete your inis (with the input ini being the exception). |

Too bad though as the video's I saw prior to launch made it look like it could be a lot of fun. Oh well, uninstalled. I'm sure there's a work around but I've got enough games to play at the moment that I don't feel like problem solving to get this game to work properly. Maybe I'll give it a fair shot sometime down the road. |

Yup. Same. I understand why people would be frustrated with it, but the gameplay is pretty damn solid and it still gets the nerves going like the original did.

Y'all are crazy. I put in a couple of hours, and it's still garbage. Should of named it Budgetfield 2 :)
I will give it a bit of credit though, it does feel a little more polished. The new map is good, and show's the strength of the game when it's presented with more open gameplay. If Fallen Fighters is on one end of the spectrum, the new map is on the other.

Did that. Didn't work. Though I remember having the same issue back at launch and I think it was related to some graphic settings. Thought they fixed that by now especially since it was a pretty widespread issue.

That had to be the most chickenshit MP experience I have ever had (I never play MP). I never even fired a gun. Hell, at least I killed a guy the last time in Tribes (I hate that game's F2P model). Why are the keybinds so shitty? I still don't get why there's so many. I never even saw an enemy, I only died once and he didn't show up in the killcam. At least the graphics were nice. This was in action mode.

If I wasn't so inundated with other games I'd probably buy this, especially for $10. After about an hour of matches Realism mode proved a surprisingly good fit for me. I still died a lot, but it seemed made specifically for the kinds of tactics I try to use in MP shooters - checking openings, keeping my head down, and waiting for opportunities instead of rushing around like most COD or Halo players. It's an MP shooter for the cautious gamer, and I like that. I just don't have time for it right now.
Y'know what? I just might, even if I don't get down to it until six months from now or something. |

Also the keybinds are fine. You only really need to know how to toggle crouch, run, go prone, spot an enemy, and holding your breath for a distance shot. Sounds like the norm for the FPS today. I guess if you jump back in, try to approach it a bit more tactically despite playing in the Action Mode. Running out in the open is bound to get you shot easily so cling to the walls, keep your head down, and keep your hearing out for random noises nearby like bullets/opposition talking/footsteps. I killed three Germans yesterday simply by knowing they were in a bunker through the chatter.

Anyone else find the presentation in-game to be really cool? It sounds like you're in a movie or documentary or something. The motion blur, black lines, the way the sky looks, the music while you're playing. It feels like you're in a real war it's interesting.
