I sense another self-indulgent failure for Baz Luhrmann.

It's so damn glossy. Like, every single pixel in every single shot. I'm not sure that's really the best approach for the novel. It's almost fetishistic.

Ugh. That's certainly not how I remember the book. And why is the cgi so incredibly bad? This movie needs to be toned down quite a bit.

I could see them holding off for a full length one until Lawless, since that's about the time it's done shooting. Hopefully they put out a teaser earlier, cut from the Cannes reel.

LOL 'Tone down' doesn't really jive with Baz Luhrmann.

And Dan hit the nail on the head, looks completely self-indulgent like all his films. I'm not sure this story will benefit from it.

Great Gatsby 3D sounds as absurd of a title to me as something like Super Noah's Ark 3D or Super Columbine Massacre RPG. :P

The more I think about this trailer the more I hate it. The book's tone is nothing like what's depicted in the trailer.

The most interesting thing about the book were not the parties and the flare of Gatsby.

Definitely not a fan. And I'm still trying to figure out if we've jumped the shark when we're slapping 3D onto the Great fucking Gatsby now. I'll stick with the Robert Redford version.

I have a few problems with the direction, but 3D isn't one of them.

No reason we can't have a movie like this in 3D. Hugo proved that. It's still far and away the best 3D movie.
