I was actually disappointed when it was revealed that this game is more of a 3D fighting game than a beat em up, so this demo will probably be what convinces me one way or the other whether it's worth a purchase. If it feels more like God Hand than WWE, I might bite when it reaches the bargain bin.

Finally, we break the bad news about Anarchy Reigns US/EU release date – SEGA has decided to change the date to TBC. While our work on the game is finished, localized, and ready to go, as publisher, SEGA gets to make the final decision as to when it is released. The Japanese release date, however, remains unchanged for July 5, 2012. July 5th is the date for the japanese version. http://platinumgames.com/2012/05/25/...ak-episode-08/ |

C'mon Sega, don't break my heart with one of the four games I really want this year... |

Not necessarily. Namco did the same thing with Ridge Racer: Unbounded. Un-listing a release date might be a negotiation tactic or have some other implications that I'm not aware of. But I won't be doing any importing until there's some concrete news about the US release status and region protection.
The demo should be out in JP tonight, due to time zone differences, but it might require XBL Gold. This was Sega's opportunity to generate global pre-order buzz and they're wasting it. Really disappointed at them right now. |

If it is a full blown cancel though then this is a pretty rare event. Usually these things don't go and happen just a month or two from release unless something's horribly wrong, for Thrill Kill it was pushing an extreme EA didn't want (and being awful apparently), for NBA Elite it was being amazingly bad, and this would be the casualty of SEGA having a massive meltdown.

Yeah, sure, printing and distributing discs they might not want to do it, but a digital release as you say... Sega please, don't be fucking morons this time :(

It's localized but the 360 version is still region locked I'm assuming? I'll decide after the demo, but PS3 import is in my future.

I saw a post on another forum (from PlatinumJP I think) that said the 360 version *should* be region free, but I wouldn't order a thing without verification.

That's a link to the Japanese demo, if people have access of course. Is there going to be an US/EU demo? |
