There was a time I would have found this quite exiting news. That time is past for the moment.
Unless it's something decent and actually on a platform/control method that actually suits the material I'm really not interested in more rubbish and failed attempts. |

Star Wars: Cash In Game #457
Speculation: SWK2 or SWFU3. I personally think K2 because they've only got so much time to cash in on the Kinect before it is replaced by its superior model/replacement. Meanwhile, Tim Schafer is eating money, Ron Gilbert is being characteristically grumpy, and everyone remembers that one time when LucasArts wasn't crap. |

I´m going to propose a small mental exercise for everyone here...
Ok, slow your breathing, relax, open your mind... 1. Think of the fondest memories you had while growing up 2. Now, amongst those memories, think of the first time you smiled and laughed while Mutant tentacles tried to take over the world 3. The first time you got into the cockpit of a Tie fighter and felt cold feet while trying to figure out the controls 4. The time you cracked your whip at Nazi´s while searching for lost treasures 5. Or imagined the wind in your face while you rode with a gang of motorcycles... Now take all those feeling´s, put them in a bag and lock them in the closet, turn off the light and take in the emptiness you are feeling... that is what you can expect from Lucasarts super secret announcement... :P |

I have some mixed emotions.
For one Tie Fighter is easily one of my top 3 games of all time. As much as I'd love to see a new Tie Fighter I don't know if I'd want it from the current LucasArts. Or one that most certainly would be dumbed down for consoles with a questionable quality PC port, if there were to even be one. And would Totally Games even be involved? I should hope so. And they would have to get it perfect. If they don't and release some shoddy lair-esque quality game that ends up bombing every other studio is going to point to it and say 'see space sims don't sell!' then we won't get another space sim for another decade or more. I would take a new Jedi Knight though also. But then again the first two were PC games and more than likely this would be a consolized game. |

It's not going to be anything we want. It's not going to be X-Wing/Tie-Fighter, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron, Republic Commando, KOTOR3, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle or any of their other good properties.
It's probably going to be Force Unleashed 3, and it's going to be shit. At best it's Battlefront 3 developed by some awful studio. It's amazing that last generation LucasArts was just pumping out quality Star Wars titles on multiple platforms. Now we're lucky if they release one 360/PS3 turd every few years. |

Watched that movie last night and the flight sequences were great, rest of the movie suckedm but a game based on the flight sequences would be awesome.

Licensing the Unreal Engine points to a Republic Commando sequel.
But really, it could be anything. An existing Star Wars franchise, another attempt at Indy, a new franchise, or Lucas going back to making adventure games. Nothing would surprise me. But based off of Lucas' recent track record (i.e. Stupidity and Disappintement), it will be Star Wars Kinect 2 or the second half of The Force Unleashed 2. |

It was speculated that it could simply be an online game that is being listed under the mmo category...because another MMO seems rather unlikely right now. They certainly have a WiiU title to show though.
