Well Azarenka never plays like this against nobodies, this isn't indicative of her stay as #1 at all which has been very stable and strong. I don't like her but as the current Grand Slam holder she's dominated tournaments this year. So something's wrong, although somewhat back to normal in the match now.

Yeah I prefer to watch many lower ranked players than Djokovic/Nadal/Murray/Ferrer, their games often have some quirks that make them more interesting to watch than these relentless baseline grinders, even if they're not as effective.

Sorry but I am not buying this. Unless you are a hater, a tennis fan can not find Novaks game boring. Same goes for Rafa, Andy, etc. I personally hate to watch federer use his backhand, but to call his game boring would be just ridiculous.

Nadal bores me. I can't stand watching his matches. I appreciate what he does, but his game does nothing for me.

He gets input in design of his clothes, etc. IMO better then to go with Nike. A) He would never get that much money from them. B) They already have Rafa and Roger, no way they are pushing him instead. |

And you didn't just mention Andy Murray did you? He might be the most boring player to watch in all of tennis. All that talent just to play like he hates it.

Berdych is really impressing me during this clay season. He has a new coach, it is working great for him. But I have a feeling he will choke in a big match. Potential match against Roger would be sweet. But prior to that he would have to beat delpo. And I think Delpo is a bit better

Wat. He has some ridiculous shots. They've tamed him in recent years to improve his consistency, but he still has incredible feel for the ball and can be unpredictable. One of the more exciting players to watch, and I find his demeanour quite amusing.

He's mostly a counterpuncher. When he has to generate offense all by himself he isn't nearly as fun to watch as Federer. That's why matches against inferior opponents are (most of the times) godawful to watch.

We are on a same page. 5 masters, 3 GS finals. Countless SFs. His recent AO performance and match against Novak is stellar. Both were so aggressive. But "some" (FED heads) find it boring you know...it's all about Fed, let's just watch Fed, everyone else is "boring". Man these fed glasses are dope.

Yeah but Madrid was a joke. That wasn't really clay....if you get my point. It didn't play like clay. Delpo is very very good clay play. SF back in 09. Played stellar match vs Rafa last year in Davis Cup final.

I was very impressed by Berdych in Monte Carlo and I think it has the slowest courts of all the big clay tournaments. It should be an interesting match if they meet.

Murray is fun to watch one times out of ten. Unfortunately when it matters the most he plays the worst, most passive tennis.

Brah Wimbledon hasn't played like grass since 04 and is a much more significant tournament the fucking Madrid. Mowgli can complain all he wants about the courts hurting his body but he wouldn't have any where close to the success if the courts didn't change.

Brad Gilbert was talking about an outstanding stat about Serena: She's never ever lost in the 1st round of a major. I don't follow women's tennis that much but that does sound amazing. I can't really say, but I'd guess that Evert, Navratilova, Graf, Higgins have all had 1st round exits.

She's got many amazing records. Thing about the Williams sisters right now.. they play too sporadically to realistically stay at peak. They're amazing when on, they may win tournaments, slams (Venus might be past that) but they're bound to stumble. That's what happens when you don't grind steadily. The streak had to end some day.
Still won't say Serena's lost this match since she's been down so many times in Slams and come back with a vengeance. But Razzano is a very good player at her best. |
