Searched and did not find gif thread for water effects and explosions in video games.

Let's post our favorite water effects and explosion effects from video games (or shitty effects if we're feeling angry at the world) in gif form.

Here's mine. Sorry for the large gif size. I can't seem to cut it down and speed it up (I just learned how to make gifs like 2 hours ago).

Halo 3 Water Effects. I prefer them to Reach's water effects.

Edit: Although not shooting, in Gears of War on the level where you go down into the lambent mine, the rain from the drainpipes splashes off Marcus' with pretty good animation.

Which game has the best puddles? Last gen it was the prerendered puddle in RE4 near the mouth of the waterfall in 2-1, the one concealing the tunnel leading to the tablet that gets you into the church. That puddle was glorious. Just the right amount of mud ringing it. I'm torn which game this gen has the best puddles, though, and which puddle in particular is best. BioShock certainly had some great puddles. I think Crysis did, too.

Probably not the best, but trenches in the Pointe du Hoc level of Call of Duty 2 had some epic mud puddles!

I did an amazing gif of Mafia 2 explosion and debris physics blowing up with a tommy gun a petrol station in the demo.
I dont have it anymore, but I know people quoted it several times so lets pray someone saved the gif in their computer, I would love to watch it again.

On further reflection i think they probably classify as textures rather than actual water :(

Agreed, but that scene was all of one corridor. :-\ Now its sequel had some outstanding water effects, most notably the motherfucking amazing boat level. I still haven't replayed that with the motion blur patch, bet it looks a-ma-zing.

That MT Framework (is that what it's called) is amazing for explosions in general. RE5 had some godly 'splosions going on, great ol' upthrusts of earthen debris and smoldering smoke, aww yeah.
