It's really annoying to browse a thread and see that, and then see like ten people quoting it and talking about what the picture used to be. "This is the greatest gif ever, it changed my life!" And now my life will never be changed by your amazing gif because you decided to use Photobucket instead of an image hosting website that doesn't suck.

There are plenty free image hosting sites out there that don't suck. I use imgur, and it seems to work out pretty well for me. Maybe you'll find one you like more. Just make sure it isn't Photobucket, because Photobucket is awful.

I thought everyone knew this, but it seems like Photobucket has had a recent resurgence in popularity for some bizarre reason, so I felt this PSA was necessary.

Imgur is terrible for gifs and any images you want to use to show of image quality.
Its good for random quick shots at low res, but this is NeoGIF we dont use low res or sub 5mb gifs.

Problem?...get a faster net connection.

I love Photobucket but I don't use it to post one-time pictures. I use Imgur for that, instead.

But the real question is: why are people still hot linking? I always see a pic here that says something along the lines of "thanks for stealing our images, asshole" or whatever because some poster directly linked to the pic. That is far worse than using Photobucket or whatever.

Yeah I had PB Pro or whatever for a year and it was ok, but my god, loading my PB album pages has made me break several things. They fucked up real bad moving to the whole javascript thing or whatever it is. Should have kept the old style.

I use imgur for anything I post on GAF, and abload for big gifs. Apparently I should be using minus for those who investigate my gifs with a magnifying glass. Show a side-by-side or something if you wanna hype up minus.

Minus gives you 10GB of space for free. And you can get more by either 1) New account 2) Inviting friends. It's really awesome, and not just for images.
